How to style a taupe dress

Whenever I see this taupe asymmetrical dress hanging in the back of my closest, I think Bridesmaid. I’m not sure if it’s the cut of the dress, the colour, the material, or the ruffle detail on the one shoulder, but it always makes me think of a wedding. It’s the only taupe dress I own, I’m kinda falling back in love with it (although it does make my boobs look huge, which I hate). I was going to pair it with my nude pumps, but went with these black strappy sandals instead. It gives it a more rock n’ roll, edgier look for my date night with Derek. I kept the rest of the outfit girl with my hot pink monogrammed clutch and rose gold Happy necklace, both from Ladd-Accessories.
