Blogiversary
It’s hard to believe that I have been blogging for 9 years, yet here we are. Looking back, I’ve realized how much I have grown as a person and how much The Pink Millennial has evolved since 2010. Funny story, I actually started on Facebook. A way to share my daily outfits with a few of my close friends. A few months in, I started to feel bad for my male friends, or people in general who didn’t care what I was wearing on the daily. I decided to start a private Facebook Page for those likeminded friends. I invited a few people that shared my love of fashion, and after just a few short weeks by page had grown to a couple hundred. I never planned on growing an audience, nor did I have the intention of starting a blog (heck, I didn’t even know blogging was a thing). I also never anticipated people having any interest in my personal style, but here we are, 9 years later.
Share what you love and ignore what you don’t!
This can be applied to all aspects of your life, and not just in the blogging community. I truly believe in finding things that bring you joy and focus on that. Weed out the negativity in your life and you’ll be truly happy. Things that bring you down only hold you back, so try directing your energy to things that bring you utter happiness. Setting goals, pursuing your passions and reaching ambitions and accomplishments will make you a strong person. I often get asked “why I don’t have any negative reviews on my blog”, and it’s not because I haven’t come across a bad product, cause trust me… I have, but it’s because I choose to keep my blog a positive place. Talking negatively about a product that didn’t necessarily work for me, doesn’t benefit anyone.
Inspiration comes when you allow it!
I update by blog 5 to 6 times a week, which is a lot of content to get creative with. Do I get stumped for new ideas, sure, but do I give up…never! Inspiration is all around us, we just have to be open to receive it. If you find yourself in a rut, sometimes a change in scenery is all it takes you leave you feeling inspired again. A simple change in perspective, like taking a Sunday drive, will leave you with a new idea. Trying something you’re always assumed you can’t do, or simply trying something new, is a sure way to get you out of your comfort zone and leave you feeling motivated.
Anything is possible!
I know this may sound like a cliché, but if you’re determined to succeed, you can achieve anything. If you believe in yourself, and willing to work hard (and long hours), you can absolutely accomplish all your goals. Determination, hustle and perseverance is what got me to where I am today. Was I working 15 hours a day, 7 days a week for years, sure… but now I have my own business, take pride in what I do, and don’t have to answer to anyone, but myself.
Balance is key!
It took me years to find the perfect balance between work and life, and something I continue to struggle with, but juggling my career and personal life is key to my sanity. I’m constantly trying to grow my empire, move forward with a purpose, and achieve all the daily goals I set out for myself, but I also know the importance of keeping a balance in all elements of my life. I now set realistic goals in all areas of my life and remember that my ultimate goal is balance. I focus on my relationships, physical well-being, spiritual alignment, mental development, career and my finances on the daily. This allows me the freedom to feel in control of my surroundings.
Nothing more rewarding than finding your purpose!
There is nothing more satisfying in life than finding out what you were put on this Earth to achieve. In order to get somewhere, you need to define your end goal and have a mission. The purpose of life is to find something that makes you laugh, smile and forget time. A strong sense of purpose fuels your motivation and gives you a reason to get up in the morning. Although The Pink Millennial may just be a personal blog, I have built a strong community over these past 9 years, where we can all share our love of fashion, beauty and daily life adventures together. I look forward to getting ready and sharing my love of clothes and makeup with the world. It may sound silly, but I believe that’s my purpose in life.
A huge shout-out to Melissa from Party Girls Company for making this set come to life!
