A few weeks ago, Western University was just one of 6 campuses across Canada to host a Break Up and Move event. The morning inspired young women to break up with things that were no longer working for them. The event took the negativity out of the word “break-up”. Each guest had the opportunity to ask questions and really get motivated about making positive changes in their lifestyle.
The day started with a free yoga class to help everyone relax and unwind, followed by a moderated panel discussion with two experts, relationship expert Kimberly Moffit and Dr. Christine Palmay. Everyone instantly felt motivated, empowered and inspired to let go of bad habits and create a positive atmosphere in their lives.
The Break Up and Move event reminded me that I need to take time for myself and really focus on what’s important in my life. I get so wrapped up in my daily routine, I sometimes don’t even notice the unhealthy and negative things going on around me. I need to learn to let go of toxic relationships with old friends, breakup with uninspiring jobs that leave me feeling unfulfilled and also bad habits, like drinking too much caffeine on a daily basis (this one will be a work in progress). Once I learn to let go, I can focus more time on the things I love and will serve me better. The Break Up and Move event also talked about other options besides the pill, which you can find out more info at birthcontrolforme.ca
