I’ve been “dying” to show you the new Dior Summer 2015 Tie Dye Collection for the past few weeks, and today’s the day. This season, Dior takes the spirit of the tie-dye seen among the house collections and interprets for the skin. The beautiful sunset tones fluctuate, stretch and transform, as though saturated by light, where the jade, amber bronze and lagoon blue are paired perfectly with coral, pink, mauve and red on the lips to create a vibrant smile.
Like all Dior 5 Couleurs, these 2 new palettes are based around the centre shade to metamorphose into a blend of solar shades on the eyelid. You can effortlessly achieve multiple, summertime looks, depending on what trio you use. Looking for an extremely natural daytime look, combine the two upper and middle shades, or for a more dramatic, nighttime effect, use the two bottom shades along with centre.
These two new Dior 5 Couleurs actually seem much creamier and much more pigmented than the past compacts. Its velvety formula provides a stronger colour payoff and truer opaque coverage than the previous collections. It still comes in an array of satin, matte and shimmery finishes that apply effortlessly and wear beautifully throughout the day. I did find a few of the darker shades a bit patchy and with a little fallout, but nothing I couldn’t work with. These two new couleurs are now some of my favourites out of the Dior collections so far. It retails for $62.
Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow 556 Contraste Horizon includes a soft jade green with a slightly shimmery finish, a peachy gold, a pure white, with a light blue tint and a matte finish, a bronzy brown and a stunning, summertime teal.
Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow746 Ambre Nuit is a permanent new palette that contains a light peach with a satin finish, a medium to almost deep bronze with a shimmery finish, a light off-white with a frosty finish, a copper with gold flecks throughout and a rosewood brown with a semi-matte almost satin finish.
Dior Eye Reviver Palette is a collection of ultra-luminous, universal neutral eyeshadows that help to open and brighten the eyes in 6 simple steps. The four eyeshadows are applied in conjunction with a primer and a liner, working in perfect harmony to create a smooth, even and wide-eyed look, while adding definition and brightness.
Just when you think you don’t need another nude palette, you get a closer look at this new Dior Eye Reviver Palette. It includes a total of 6 shades; a primer, 4 eyeshadows and a gel eyeliner to complete the look. Everything you need for a bright eyed look all in one sleek, silver mirrored compact. There’s a bone matte shade that acts as a base and can be used all over the lid to really help adhere the shadow. The first shadow is a warm cream satin with a slight shimmer, a taupe with sporadic glitter, bronzy brown with almost a plum undertone and a shimmery finish and brown, almost black with a shimmer finish, along with a gel eyeliner, much like the black liner found in the Kingdom of Colors Palette.
Dior Eye Reviver Palette is everything you look for in a palette, a good mixture of shimmer, satin and matte, finely milled formula that applies and blends effortlessly into the skin, and with an array of colours to add dimension and depth. It comes in a slim and chic, travel-friendly compact that features a full sized mirror on the inside lid along with 2 mini brushes for easy application on the go. Although the primer is matte, it has an extremely soft and silky texture that applies like a dream. It really does help the other shades pop and prolongs the wear time of each colour. The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and truly opaque in a single swipe, with zero fallout. They apply easily, blend into one another beautifully and complement each other wonderfully. Each shade stays put the entire day without creasing or fading, I can easily get 10+ hours when I use the primer that’s included. The eyeliner on the other hand, while although isn’t intended to be an extremely black shade (which I usually look for in an eyeliner), doesn’t perform as well as the rest of the palette. Sure, you can easily build it up for a stronger intensity and sets without fading or creasing, I just find it difficult to apply and it look a fairly long time to dry. This palette is incredible easy to use, will look amazing on all skin tones and can easily take you from day to night. It retails for $62.
Dior Diorshow Khol Stick will help add a metallic touch and intensify the eyes with its flattering, deep blue shade. It features an oversized tip with a rich and creamy formula that glides across the lid effortlessly for a seamless application each and every time. It applies like a classic kohl liner to add depth to the inner rim, but can also be used as an all-over base shade to the entire eyelid or even underneath the eye for a bolder, pop of colour. It retails for $32 in shade Pearly Turquoise.
Dior Diorskin Nude BB Crème 025 comes in a new midsummer, apricot shade and is ideal for a transparent, illuminating and tan complexion. It’s enhanced with mineralized floral water and a blend of antioxidants to help keep the skin moisturized, smoothed, protected and corrected with sheer coverage. It helps to create the perfect, fresh faced, glowing, dewy skin we’re all after in the warm summer months.
Dior Diorskin Nude BB Crème 025 has an incredibly rich, smooth and creamy texture that feels extremely lightweight and breathable on my skin. It provides a sheer coverage, but since it’s fairly pigmented, it can easily be built up to a light to medium coverage. Of course, like all BB crèmes, if you’re suffering from minor blemishes or imperfections, you might want to follow up with a concealer. It looks beautiful on the skin with a completely natural finish that lasts throughout the day. My skin instantly looked healthier, more hydrated with a gorgeous, luminous glow. It retails for $45.
If you loved the Diorskin Nude Tan powders, you’re going to love the Dior Diorskin Nude Tan Tie Dye. This gorgeous blush features 4 shades within the compact and is fused together to create a perfect sunkissed glow to the skin. It has a combination of both shimmer and colour to help illuminate and reflect light.
Dior Diorskin Nude Tan Tie Dye comes with a kabuki brush to effortlessly apply this incredibly soft and finely milled blush. It really does feel like second skin once applied to the skin and its velvety texture blends into the skin beautifully. It’s fairly pigmented and although it does have a hint of shimmer, it doesn’t seem to emphasize enlarged pores or any imperfections. It gives a natural flush, radiant summertime glow to the skin and wears for a solid 8 to 9 hours. It retails for $57 in two shades of Pink Sunrise and Coral Sunset.
Dior Diorskin Nude Tan Tie Dye in Pink Sunrise consists of pinks, mauves and soft rose, perfect for those with a lighter complexion.
Dior Diorskin Nude Tan Tie Dye in Coral Sunset contains a stunning orange, iridescent pink and sandy beige, that would look extremely well on dark skin tones or tanned skin.
Although the Dior Addict Tie Dye Lipstick may look like your traditional classic Addict lipstick, due to the clear and silver, almost iridescent design, but it’s what’s within that makes it pretty innovated and truly unique. It features the main dominate shade, but with a secondary contrasting shade running throughout the entire bullet. The contrasting colour is done in the CD logo and never loses it colour throughout the enter tube. This helps to not only create a one of a kind look, but creates extra dimension to the lips.
Of course, Dior Addict Tie Dye Lipstick comes with the same incredibly smooth, creamy and extremely moisturizing formula as the other addict lippies and glide onto the lips like butter. It is semi-sheer, incredibly shiny and glossy. It has enough pigmentation that you’re easily able to build it up to more of a medium, opaque coverage. It provides a streak-free, highly hydrating application that wears for a few hours before slowing starting to fade. It gives the moisture your lips need with an added pop of colour. It retails for $34 in four shades of Red Bliss, Coral Trip, Fuchsia Utopia and Nude Fever.
Dior Addict Tie Dye Lipstick in 001 Red Bliss is a stunning red with a light pink running throughout, that turns into a sheer rosy red once applies to the lips, 002 Coral Trip is a bright coral with an extremely bright red running throughout, that turns into a sheer reddish orange once applied to the lips, 005 Fuchsia Utopia is a bright Barbie pink with a pale pink running throughout, that turns into a sheer pale pink once applied to the lips and finally 006 Nude Fever is a chocolate brown with pinky beige running throughout, that turns into a soft, baby pink once applied to the lips.
You may remember me raving about the Dior Addict Fluid Stick, well they are back with new permanent shades to add to their already popular lineup. This hybrid lip product combines a lipgloss, lip tint and lipstick in a unique water-based formula. It evaporates upon application for a baby soft, extremely pigmented and extremely shiny finish. It provides hydration, moisture and long-lasting hold that becomes one with the lips.
Dior Addict Fluid Stick 3 new shades, Tropiques, Ciel Rose and Plaisir come with the same fabulous tea shape foam applicator that helps to glide the product onto the lips with ease and allows for precise applications. It’s truly opaque in a single swipe thanks to its extremely pigmented formula. It gives a beautiful shiny, glossy finish that’s comfortable to wear the entire day and lasts for about 3 to 4 hours before slowing fading. It retails for $35.
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer is a lip moisturizer that gives lips an incredible instant-volume effect for glossy, full and plump lips. It’s enriched with collagen and a blend of hyaluronic and marine-based fillers to help instantly leave lips smooth, soft and extremely hydrated.
This is my first time experimenting with Dior Addict Lip Maximizer, as I usually don’t buy into the whole plumping effect lip products. They usually don’t work and just leave my lips feeling irritated and sticky. I’ve been applying this as a base to help prep and prime my lips before applying my lipstick. Its handy sponge applicator effortlessly applies the product for a soft and smooth application. It has an almost jelly-like texture that doesn’t feel too sticky or tacky, yet adheres to the lips beautifully. It’s incredibly lightweight and comfortable to wear the entire day, while adding moisture and shine to the lips.
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer really does boost lip volume for a slight pluming effect, without the annoying stinging sensation. I’ve also been applying it over my lipstick for a touch of shine and a kissable pout within a few short minutes. You can also use it as an intense lip treatment over the course of 15 days, by applying it both morning and night. It has a yummy minty vanilla scent that provides a slight cooling and fresh sensation after each application. I can’t really tell if it’s providing long-term effects, as it hasn’t been long enough, but it has quickly become a staple in my daily lip regime. I’m in love with both new shades, Beige Sunrise, which of course, is a beautiful pale nude shade and Pink Sunset, which is a stunning pale pink. It retails for $33.
It wouldn’t be a Dior collection without a few nail polishes and some sort of unique top coat to apply over top. Dior Vernis comes in two new limited edition shades of Sunkissed, a beautiful light muted peach with cream finish and Sunwashed, a pale, milky yellow with a crème finish. Since both of these shades are fairly pale, almost pastel like, it can be a little streaky during application. It also requires at least 2, probably 3 coats to achieve true opaque coverage. It retails for $27.
Dior Vernis Ombre Effect is an extremely thick and almost goopy top coat that has a pink tint to it. Once applied over your favourite polish, it creates a beautiful ombre tie dyed effect to the nails. You first paint your nails with either one or two coats of polish, cover two thirds of your nail from the base with one layer of the Vernis Ombre Effect, before adding another layer covering one third of the nails. Of course, it can be applied on its own to give a pale pinkish purple pop of colour and shine to the nails. It retails for $28.
