Did you know that almost 40% of Canadian women have worked at home, not gone to a party or wore a hat at some point due to a bad hair day? Did you also know that more than half of Canadian women (58%) colour their hair and 16% have done so in the past but aren’t maintaining it. Thanks to John Frieda, who provides salon quality products at home you don’t have to spend your hard earned money at the salon. He has come out with a new line for colour treated hair called Colour Protection.

I’ve been using John Frieda Colour Protection Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner for the past month with its advanced formula of crushed pearls and sweet almond oil that helps moisturize, protects and preserves brunette colour, rehydrates and replenishes dry hair and with daily use helps lock in rich, glossy colour and multi-dimensional tones.
Both John Frieda shampoo and conditioner come in a squeeze tube, 250ml and a little goes a long way. Like I said I’ve been using it for a good month now and I’ve used about ¼ of the bottles. Both have a nice, thick, creamy consistency to it that lathers well and doesn’t feel watery. Both products have a light caramel tint to it and smells sweet, like almond and vanilla. The smell never seems to disappear even after drying your hair like most shampoos, I can still smell the hint of almond throughout the day.
Overall, my hair feels softer, more manageable and has a nice shine to it. It also seems to bring out and brighten up my natural high-lights and is doing a great job at holding my colour treated hair, less trips to the salon is okay in my books. I also love the fact that both the shampoo and conditioner can be found at drugstores and your local Wal-Mart and usually for under $12 a piece. And really I can’t even tell you how amazing the smell is, no really, its fabulous, you’re going to love it, I catch myself smelling my hair all the time and now I’ve been catching the hubby using this shampoo as well (so you know it must be good)!
