Two talents combined to create 2 different fragrances
Olivier Baussan has been friends with world famous pastry chef, Pierre Hermé for years and they share a mutual love for Corsica. They both fell in love with the Immortelle flower which inspired the new L’OCCITANE x Pierre Hermé Collection. They both share a love for fine, authentic ingredients which you will see come to life in this partnership. Olivier designed the packaging, whereas Pierre created the two powerful scents using his nose and knack of bringing together unique and unexpected ingredients. Although you’d expect the collection to be quite sweet, like macaroons, which Pierre is best known for, it’s actually quite light and warm.
L’OCCITANE x Pierre Hermé Jasmine-Immortelle-Neroli features sparkling main notes of Immortelle essential oil from Corsica, Jasmine flower and Neroi to bring an unexpected sensation to this fragrance. It includes top notes of petit grain, pink pepper, lemon, middle notes of jasmine, jasmine, immortelle, neroli and orange blossom and base notes of amber, white wood and musk. This soft, romantic and very sophisticated fragrance is both florally and feminine. It has me dreaming of walking through a fresh spring meadow with a hot breezy blowing on my back on a warm sunny day. It retails for $65 for 75ml.
L’OCCITANE x Pierre Hermé Grapefruit-Rhubarb is a unisex scent that combines the fresh flavours of rhubarb, clove and nutmeg with the temperamental scent of grapefruit. It includes top notes of grapefruit, rhubarb, lemon and cypress, middle notes of clove, nutmeg and lavender and base notes of cedar and vetiver. Although this doesn’t start off quite bitter and tart, in instantly turns into a crisp, green aroma followed by a balance of woody notes from the cedar. It’s the perfect balance of sour, tart, sweet and woody that I can see being appealing to both men and women. It retails for $65 for 75ml.
Like all L’Occitane collections, both scents come in a wide range of products, including body milk, lip balm, soap and of course, their famous hand cream.
