Smart Girls Fake It
Since our holiday plans got placed on hold, at least for another few months, I’m going to fake a bronze, sunkissed look with the new The Body Shop Honey Bronze Collection. The 5 piece collection hits stores next month, just in time to get that “just stepped off the beach” head to two glow look that looks extremely natural, no one will ever know you’re faking it.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Tinted Leg Mist is an innovated leg mist that gives an instant bronzed glow on those days you want to wear your favourite skirt or dress, but your legs are still extremely pale from being in hibernation mode all winter.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Tinted Leg Mist is a transparent bronzing gel mist that is applied directly to the legs for an instant healthy, sunkissed glow. It’s fairly watery in consistency and the nozzle applicator actually pumps out quite a bit of product, opposed to a mist. You have to move quickly and rub it into the skin right away, otherwise you run the risk of having it drip down your legs and onto the floor. I highly recommend doing this in the bathroom for easy clean up. Another thing to keep in mind, although it’s fairly transfer, heat and sweat proof, it isn’t waterproof. Jumping into the pool, lake or ocean may cause this mist to fade and wear off. It’s easy to use, doesn’t feel greasy or oil, nor does it have any shimmer or glitter. It doesn’t look orange, even on my fair skin, and provides a streak-free application, if you move quickly. It’s actually fairly moisturizing on the skin, without feeling sticky or tacky. I was able to get dressed immediately afterwards without the fear of transfer. It retails for $20 for 100ml.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Face Gel is much like the tinted leg mist, but intended for the face. It too has a lightweight, translucent formula that provides a sunkissed matte tan look that’s extremely natural, never orange.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Face Gel has a slightly thicker texture than the leg mist, that’s rich and creamy and applies incredibly smooth and evenly. I’d say it’s pretty much foolproof, just apply a dime size amount and blend into skin. You’ll never have the fear of it looking streaky or orange and its buildable formula allows you to create a soft, subtle look or build it up for a more intense, radiant glow. It gives a lightly cooling and refreshing feeling to the skin that quenches it with all day hydration with a lovely beachy scent. It retails for $16 for 30ml.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome is a highlighting cheek dome that provides a natural, flush of warmth, shimmery finish.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome comes packaged in the most adorable plastic dome shape jar with twist off lid. It’s super easy to use, without the need of a fancy brush or applicator. These are incredibly convenient, perfect for travel or the day at the beach when you’re looking for an added pop of colour. It has a rich, smooth and creamy texture that’s highly pigmented and fairly opaque. These really do glide onto the skin like butter for a seamless application without looking streaky or patchy. Because it has an oil base, you’re going to want to set it with a translucent powder or setting spray to help prolong the wear time. When I set it properly, it lasted throughout the day without fading. It comes in three shades of champagne, which is a gorgeous highlight shade, a peachy-pink, that could also double as a blush for us pale skin gals and a shimmery bronze that gives a lovely sun kissed glow and has a fresh scent of honey. It retails for $16.
