Cardigan
Comfort is always a good idea, especially in the long, cold winter months. As much as I want to curl up in a ball on the sofa and snuggle with the dogs by a fire, there are days like today when I’m forced to leave the house. An oversize cardigan sweater is an excellent option for days when you want the feeling of lounging around in your pjs, but still want to look put together. A soft long cardigan is soft, warm and stylish. It’s the perfect piece to add to your wardrobe when you want to show your feminine side, no matter what the temperature is outside.
If you’re going loose on the top, keep your bottoms tailored and streamlined. Like any other boxy or bulky top, a good rule to follow, when styling an oversize top, is to keep your bottoms form-fitting. This will help ensure your look is balanced and gives an effortless chic look. Jeans, of course, are the easiest option, and my personal favourite, but you can also go with ankle pants or skinny dress pants. Well-fitting jeans that shape your leg beautifully will also give the appearance of a longer, leaner body. Straight or tapered pants will help add shape to your bottom half, while being work appropriate.
Keeping with the fit there, also consider your height. Oversize doesn’t have to mean boxy and ill-fitting. Depending on your height and body shape, you might want to opt for a shorter oversize sweater, whereas if you have a bit of height, you can get away with a longer, chunkier cardigan. Sweaters that are too long for your body type can make you look shorter and stumpy.
If you’re looking for a longer sweater or cardigan and you’re on the shorter side, elevate your look with some heels. This will also help your look from being too casual or boring. A simple pump, heel bootie, even over-the-knee boots will help lift your look to the max. A heel, of course, will also elongate your legs and add some edge to your outfit.
Grey oversize cardigan is the perfect balance between black and white. It’s not as dark and dull as a black sweater, but it’s not as light and scary as white. It’s a high-class colour that can be worn with all types of fabric to create a perfectly chic look. From suede, knits, wool, cotton and everything in between, grey pairs beautifully with everything. It can create a casual look when paired with jeans and a tee for weekend, or be dressed up with navy dress pants and printed blouse for work.
