How to Style A White Dress for Spring
I’ll never be that girl who can wear white and not spill on it, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing it. I truly believe a girl can never have too many dresses, especially white ones for spring and summer. They are just so easy to throw on and there’s so many ways to style them. The possibilities are truly endless. The key is to look for a white dress that’s unique in some way. Maybe that’s in the fabric, the cut or even in the details. Also look for one in a slightly thicker material, so it’s not so see-through, and a fabric that’s breathable, ensuring you stay cool this season.
This Suzy Shier Short Sleeve Midi Dress, not only has pockets (a huge plus for me), its 55% linen/ 45% rayon material ensures its thick enough, while still being breathable. Obsessed with the button and v neck detail, the cuffed short sleeves and its easy-breezy flow.
On days when you don’t want to fuss with your hair, a hat makes the perfect accessory. Not only does it provide some shelter from the sun, it instantly elevates the look. Again, look for lighter colours, like white or tan to keep with the summery feels. Straw hats are extremely popular during the hotter months as they are breathable yet create that effortlessly chic look. This Suzy Shier Gem Fringe Straw Hat is the perfect summertime accessory.
Don’t forget to accessorize with jewellery. This is where your true style will shine. Have fun mixing metals of silver and gold, or playful beaded necklaces and statement bracelets. If you’re looking to keep your outfit dainty and light, try thinner chains and single bracelets, instead of chunky, multiple pieces.
If colour or print is too daring or bold for your everyday look, try adding an unexpected touch of embellishment or animal print in your footwear. It can be a fun way to experiment with colour and print without being too in your face. These Leopard Platform Slides hit all those points and are incredibly comfy to wear.
You can also have fun with colour or prints in your handbag. Instead of that traditional nude or straw bag, switch things up with a statement colourful purse. A little structured pastel crossbody can be incredibly cute, as can an animal print handheld bag.
Even though it’s starting to get warmer, doesn’t mean you can’t layer. A denim jacket is the perfect layering piece and it instantly breaks up the head to toe white ensemble. Keep the outfit light and airy with a lighter wash jean jacket. You can even roll up the sleeves for a slightly more casual, laidback vibe. Be sure the jacket doesn’t weigh down the overall look, so opt for one that hits above or just at the waist.
