Pink Skirt
I’m such a cliché, wearing pink for Valentine’s Day. Although pink and red are the traditional colours, there’s something soft and romantic about the colour pink. When styling a shoot for First Canadian Place, I immediately thought of this hot pink skirt. A mid length skirt is the perfect option when looking for a flirty, yet sophisticated look. I know it can be a little scary, there’s a lot of material going on and it can go horribly wrong. The trick is balance. Since this hot pink skirt has a ton of volume, it’s important to combine it with a form-fitting top. It’s all about proportion. This fit and flair skirt looks amazing when paired with a fitted jacket and pumps to give it some height. This will help to give the illusion of longer legs. Another tip, always tuck in your shirt. Since the skirt makes a statement on its own, it’s important to balance it out with the correct accessories and clothing pieces.
I had the perfect skirt, but I was looking for a few added pieces to complete the look. My first stop at First Canadian Place was Hangar 9, in search for that perfect bomber jacket. Although I intended to get a faux leather moto jacket, my eyes were instantly drawn to this adorable denim jacket. It was right then and there, that I knew I wanted to create a quick and easy, slightly laid-back, causal look. Since the upper portion of my look was extremely casual, I went with a killer pair of ultra-feminine and slightly sexy black suede pumps (also from Hangar 9). I added a little glam and bling around my neck with a bedazzled choker from M for Mendocino. I clashed my clutch to my skirt with this sleek and chic colourful clutch from Peter Kaiser.
Hello,
