A thousand of anything, is a lot. Remember in school when you had to write a thousand-word essay, and it almost killed you. Or what about thousand sit-ups, could you do it? It felt like just yesterday that I wrote my 1000th blog post. I remember thinking to myself, how do I have that much to say? Here I am today, in my 9th year of blogging, writing not my 2000th blog post, but my 3000th one, Crazy!
Since I just celebrated my 9th Blogiversary, I won’t go into sappy details about The Pink Millennial, instead you can read what 9 years of blogging has taught me here! Instead I wanted to share some quick tips on how to be a successful blogger.
Be authentically you. I truly believe this is the key to any successful blogger. With so much info thrown at us daily, and being in such a saturated area, we can often lose our way. We can get lost in the shuffle and feel like we need to be doing what everyone else is doing to be relevant. Don’t follow the trends and don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Remember, just because something works for another blogger, doesn’t mean it is going to work for you.
Being consistent is key. I know you’ve heard it time and time again, but posting daily, or at least a few times a week, is a sure way to get your readers engaged and coming back for more. Being consistent gets you in the habit of posting regularly and also helps your audience get into that routine.
Be strategic with what you post. Posting intentional blog posts, with a purpose and ones that tell a story, are a sure way to keep your followers involved and interested. From the way you write, to the brands you promote, to your photographs, to even the time of day you post, should all have meaning behind it.
Be smart in what you invest in. Although you may feel like you always need the hottest beauty item, the trendiest outfit, or the latest electronic to be successful and relevant, watching where you spend your money is extremely important. You can quickly start spending more money than you’re making if you’re not careful.
Finally, be organized and find balance. This is one I still struggle with. My office is always a mess, my inbox is never empty, and I catch myself working extremely long hours. Over these past 9 years, I’ve slowly started to learn that this blog can’t control my life (for my own sanity). Once you get on a work schedule and make time for friends and family, it is when you’ll really start enjoying being an entrepreneur.
A huge shout-out to Melissa from Party Girls Company and Sam from Samantha Blatnicky Makeup & Lash Artist a for making this set come to life!
Congratulations on your 3000th Blog post. That is amazing. I am also trying to find some balance in my life. I did plan that 2019 would be the year I put me first. Not selfishly, but just taking better care of myself and sometimes saying no to things that pop up. A work in progress. ps. Your above photo shoot is absolutely beautiful.
