3 brands that look good in pink
It’s that time of year again, brands will join together to raise funds for the Breast Cancer with limited edition packaging. Not only will you receive an amazing product, that’s usually in pretty pink packaging, you will be supporting an amazing cause. Cancer is very near and dear to my heart, many of you already know I run a charity that supports local families across Canada in their fight against this awful disease. This doesn’t mean I won’t pick up a few of my favourite beauty brands that support Breast Cancer Awareness too. Eleven of Estée Lauder beauty brands will be devoted to defeating Breast Cancer this year by support education and medical research and raising funds for BCRF.
Aveda Limited Edition Hand Relief with Shampure Aroma features an incredibly rich and creamy formula that helps to moisturizer dry, rough hands. Its hydrating plant emollients, along with vitamins and exfoliating fruit acids, help to leave skin noticeably softer and smoother all day long. Its lightweight, extremely hydrating formula doesn’t feel sticky, greasy or heavy on the skin. Its Shampure aroma, with 25 pure flower and essences, help to calm the senses and relax the sole. It retails for $31 for 150ml ($4 will support cruelty-free research through the BCRF). It’s available this October at Aveda centers and participating salons across Canada.
Clinique Pink with a Purpose Long Last Lipstick in Power With Pink is a limited edition pretty pink shade that provides up to 8 hours of fresh, cushiony colour that resists fading, creasing or feathering. It comes packaged in a pretty pink mini cosmetic carrying pouch with zipper closer. This irresistible, flattering, universal shade not only gives your lips a pop of pink, but it supports a great cause. It retails for $19 ($4 will support BCRF). It’s available this October at Hudson’s Bay, Sears, Holts, Shoppers Drug Mart and Clinique counters Canada wide.
This is OPI 8th year of featuring its limited edition Pink of Hearts promotion. You may remember my review on it last year (found here) and how it donates $25,000 to Susan G. Komen, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, along with $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada each year. OPI Pink of Hearts 2014 duo pack features a new pink confetti glitter hue called The Power of Pink, along with the classic light pink crème shade called Mod About You. It also includes a pink glitter nail file with pink-ribbon charm.
OPI Pink of Hearts 2014 brings awareness and embodies OPI’s mission to empower women through colour. Mod About You is truly a unique shade that celebrates the individual and The Power of Pink glitter gives the nail a fun and playful look that represents the joyful feeling that comes with embracing life.
OPI Mod About You features a special pink ribbon cap wrap in support of breast cancer awareness and is a medium to full coverage. I applied 3 thin coats to get a truly opaque look. The pink crème polish dries within minutes to a perfect shine and features the OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.
OPI The Power of Pink also features a pink ribbon cap, but with a sparkly lacquer in a sheer pink base that’s packed with both micro confetti in light and dark pink hues. Thanks to its creamy polish that the glitter is combined with, you can really layer on the polish without the glitter starting to poke out of the top of the nail. It looks equally as good on its own as it does paired over top of Mod About You. It creates the perfect glittery finish and also features OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.
Pink of Hearts 2014 pack will be available September and October 2014 at Professional Salons and Spas for $21.50 CAN suggested retail.
