Charity’s Annual Golf Tournament

Charity’s Annual Golf Tournament

An emotional day

What an emotion day. It was my charity’s annual golf tournament and we had perfect weather for it. For the past 5 years, it’s always rained and although that doesn’t slow our golfers down, it was nice to see the sun for a change. For those that don’t know about my charity, it started almost 6 years ago when my BFF, Kristen, passed from cancer after a long 18 year battle with it. We host 4 events a year and give to families across Canada that are battling cancer and other illnesses to send them a little “hope”. It’s 100% non-profit, so all the money raised goes right back into the hands of people that need it. It’s a lot of work, but so rewarding. We’re already given out more than $150,000 to families in need, and at this tournament, we even had a few guest speakers talk about what The DASH means to them and how we’ve helped. Thank goodness for waterproof mascara, I was a mess. I spent the day on hole #1 taking silly foursome pictures, chatting with each of our 150 golfers and of course making money, selling raffles tickets. I couldn’t have asked for a better turn out or better weather. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported The DASH.

Awe thanks sweetie, that means a lot to me. I really try to do my part and give back. Just think if everyone took a few minutes out of their busy day, what this world would be like.
