Dior Airflash Matte Touch Long-Lasting Airy Powder

Dior Airflash Matte Touch Long-Lasting Airy Powder

Dior Airflash Matte Touch Long-Lasting Airy Powder is a setting spray, in one universal shade that helps to set your makeup to a velvety matte finish. Thanks to its micronized powder particles, it provides a soft veil of sheer coverage and the Matt’Smart Complex helps to smooth and perfect the skin while eliminating shine, giving you the perfect complexion that lasts all day.

Dior Airflash Matte Touch Long-Lasting Airy Powder comes in the same style aerosol can as the Dior CC Primer Radiance Booster Colour Correcting Primer (review found here) and delivers an ultra- fine mist in almost an orange/ dark beige shade, but blends into the skin beautifully and quickly fades to a lighter shade of beige that’s almost transparent on the skin. It instantly dries down to create a perfectly matte finish to the skin, yet never drying.

At first it can be a pretty messy application – you start by shaking the can for about 5 seconds, and then hold at least 20 cm away from your face and keep your eyes closed, before starting to spray your T-zone. For best results, less messy results and more control over the product, I suggest spraying the product directly onto a brush and then blending out as it comes out of the can fairly quickly, unevenly and quite dark, especially for someone who has a paler complexion like myself. Although it does claim you’ll be able to do touch-up during the day, I found when I sprayed it directly onto my skin, it would leave a white cast on my eyelashes, eye brows and around my hair line, so I’m not sure how you would use this mid-day and avoid this problem? Only suggestion would be to re-apply it using a brush again to eliminate this problem.

Since I don’t have oily skin, this product works great for me, I can now skip my setting powder, which sometimes can leave my skin looking cakey and it helps to mattify my skin for the entire day. For those that suffer from oily skin, you might want to keep some blotting papers in your purse for quick touch ups during the day, as I don’t think it’s as mattifing as a setting powder would be, but creates a more flawless look with this. My only concern would be how quickly you’ll go through this can and how expensive it can get; with daily use of a setting powder it can last 6+ months, I’m already half way done and it’s only been 3 weeks.

Dior Airflash Matte Touch Long Lasting Airy Powder is one of the most unique and interesting products I’ve tried in a long time, but since it’s such an innovated product, it isn’t that budget friendly; great for special occasions though. Even though it can be a little messy the fact that is leaves a beautiful finish to the skin, helps minimize the looks of pores around my nose, creates a flawless finish and mattifies my skin so I’m never left looking greasy or oily, will have me continuing to use this product for years to come. It retails for $49 at Sephora.
