If you’re looking for a collection full of colour, the new Dior Spring 2017 Colour Gradation Collection is where its at. Creative and image director of Dior, Peter Philips, vision for this collection was inspired by nature. The entire lineup is fueled by temporary stunning colours that blossom in the springtime. He carefully selected colour palettes that feature playful shades in different variations. From fresh blues to juicy pinks on the eyes, to electric pinks on the lips to a healthy, radiant glow on the cheeks, each shade can be worn on its own or layered over softly to help create shape and structure to the face.
We’re all hoping for bright, sunny days ahead, so I thought today would be the perfect time to feature this stunning collection. The lineup provides the women with the freedom to use the pigmented on their skin or create a more gradation effect depending on the shades used. Intense hues mixed with subtle highlight shades create the perfect balance. The unique shades and textures create the ultimate colour experience that just screams spring.
In every Dior collection, the star of the show is always the Dior 5 Couleurs Palette or 5-Colour Designer Eyes Palettes. Dior 5 Couleurs Trafalgar is a stunning burgundy and bronze palette that effortlessly allows you to create endless looks in a single palette. These shades can easily take you from day to night, work to play.
It’s based around a gorgeous burgundy with satin finish shade found within the centre. It’s totally unique and beautiful on its own. The upper left corner is a pale pink with an iridescent, almost multi-coloured shimmer that helps to bring brightness to any look. It’s the perfect inner corner highlight. On the upper right side, you’ll find a pearly white with a soft iridescent pink shift. It too can be used to highlight the eye or also place a small amount onto the centre part of the lid to add dimension to any look. Lower left is a warm golden shade which looks amazing over the entire lid. Bottom right is a lovely brown with purple undertones. It has a slight sparkle to it that adds a touch of warmth to the centre burgundy shade.
Like all Dior palettes, Dior 5 Couleurs Trafalgar comes in a sleek, black compact with a lovely embossed design on each shadow. It has a rich, creamy, velvety smooth texture that applies seamlessly. Each shade is extremely buildable for stronger colour payoff and has an excellent mix of shimmer and satin finishes. Each shade offers little to no fall out and stays put on the lid the entire day. Just be sure to use a decent eye primer beforehand so it doesn’t crease, smudge or fade. The darker shades are slightly richer, deeper and more pigmented than the lighter shades. Last fall the brand came out with Dior Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Shimmering Sculpting Powders that felt light as air, yet reveals glowing skin for a radiantly luminous complexion within seconds. Its formula is so highly concentrated with illuminating pigments that it instantly highlights the face with a virtually imperceptible finish. It comes in a round silver compact with a convenient mini kabuki brush for easy application. It’s embossed with the word Nude and features a silky smooth, light as air, almost silky texture. It contains fine illuminating pigments that’s designed to be universally flattering on all skin tones. Its exquisite texture helps to enhance your appearance for a subtle lustrous glow.

Although Dior Rouge Dior Lipsticks are known for their wide variety of finishes in universally flattering shades, this season the brand has focused on mattes. The formula still contains hyaluronic acid and hydrating mango butter to help stimulate cell renewal and plump up the lips. It also helps to smooth fine lines and increase depth and beauty into your colour. It also features light reflecting particles to give dimension to the lips without streaking or drying them out.
Dior Rouge Dior comes in a sleek and elegant, ultra deep blue lacquer circled with Miss Dior style casework motif tube. Its silver lid is stamped with the signature CD initials on it that you’ll be proud to pull out of your purse. It has an incredibly creamy and smooth texture that keeps lips moisturized and hydrated, yet with a matte finish. It’s extremely pigmented, super opaque, but does come off just a little bit lighter on the lips than it looks in the tube. It’s longwearing, fade, smudge and budge proof. Thanks to its super comfortable and lightweight formual, its like you’re wearing nothing at all, yet stays put. 12+ hours of all day colour and comfort, even through eating and drinking. Dior Rouge Dior Matte in Radical, Distinct and Absolute
Dior Rouge Dior Brillant is more than just a lip gloss. It features added benefits of a lip treatment, with the colour and shine of a gloss. It’s formulated with three highly refractive treatment oils which contain vitamin E, known for its antioxidant benefits. Along with lip plumping ingredients that reactivates collagen synthesis to leave lips feeling incredibly smooth and radiant.
Dior Rouge Dior Brillant comes with a unique felt tip applicator with tiny reservoir in the centre. This helps to place down just the right amount of product. It has an ultra-fine, lightweight texture that covers both top and bottom lip in a single swipe. You can easily build up the coverage with a second layer. Thanks to its thick, yet buttery smooth, emollient consistency, you never worry about it feeling thick or goopy. Although not highly pigmented, its saturated enough in colour to provide decent amount of colour. It has fine micro- shimmery throughout, that doesn’t look too sparkly or glittery on the lips. It helps to create a beautiful, radiant shine.
Dior Rouge Dior Brillant in Miss is a lovely soft pink with just a tint of coral. This shade would look flattering on all skin tones. It stays put for a few hours, thanks to its long-wearing contour waxes. It seems to adhere to the lips for not only definition, but long-lasting staying power. Of course it comes with Dior’s signature rose scent, although you can’t smell it once applied to lips. It doesn’t settle into fine lines or bleed outside the lines, nor does it settle into the corners of the mouth. It feels incredibly luxe without any stickiness. Its high shine and glossy finish gives the appearance of fuller, juicer, luscious lips. It retails for $43 (be sure to check out the other shade, Bonheur, in the collection).
Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm comes in a brand-new shade, Berry, for a total of 4 sheer balms. It features an unique Dior Color Reviver technology that instantly reacts to your unique chemistry. The formula then begins to release a unique colour ingredient to change your lip shade. It will help to enhance your natural lip colour with its own customized colour. The lippie will look completely different on every skin tone. It starts off quite sheer, transparent purple, but quickly develops into a custom shade of berry. It does have a slight purplish undertone that is absolutly beautiful.
Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm features an ultra-smooth, ultra-creamy formula that glides onto the lips like butter. It has a silky and soft texture, adds moisture and hydration back into my lips. It’s not exactly buildable, however, you’ll be able to build up the intensity for a stronger colour payoff. This is intended to be a sheer wash of colour though. It stays put for upwards of a few hours and features a light vanilla scent. It’s non-sticky, goopy or tacky. It retails for $41.
Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub comes in the same pale pink packaging as the Lip Glow but features a sugary lip scrub within. This exfoliating and nurturing stick has a gritty texture. It instantly transforms into a balm like consistency once applied to the lips. As you start to lightly rub over your entire lips, the sugar begins to melt. It starts to leave behind a subtle pop of pink. The formula helps to hydrate, moisturize and nourish the lips for healthy, softer, smoother lips. It provides a natural glossy effect that doesn’t need to be washed off. Just scrub and go. It retails for $41.
