Get your wallets ready ladies, on top of shopping for some new summer clothes, the new Dior Summer 2016 Milky Dots Collection is about to hit stores next month and you’re going to want it all. The entire collection is inspired by the iconic polka-dot pattern and features soft milky colours of summer smoothies, fiery bronze shades to add warmth to your complexion and confetti-like soft and romantic manicure colours and I couldn’t wait to share it all with you on this fashion blog.
Although the exterior of the Dior 5 Couleurs Polka Dots Eyeshadow Palette boxes are done in a fun black and white polka-dot pattern, sadly to say the actual palette within is just the classic black with silver detailing design. I was really hoping it would pick up on the whimsical inspired theme behind this collection, but I guess Dior wanted to stick with its iconic casing?
Like all Dior 5 Couleurs, these 2 new palettes are based around the centre shade to transform into a blend of stellar shades on the eyelid. You can effortlessly achieve multiple, summertime looks, depending on what trio you use. Looking for an extremely natural daytime look, combine the two upper and middle shades, or for a more dramatic, nighttime effect, use the two bottom shades along with centre. Of course, both palettes come with the rich and creamy formula you’d expect from Dior, one inspired by the raw beauty of the Mediterranean and the other reminiscent of a summery sunset set against a sandy dune. Although not highly pigmented, they are buildable, easily taking you from soft, subtle hues to more intense and bold shades, depending on how much product you apply. Both palettes seem to have an array of both matte, satin and shimmer shades that provide a soft, silky and smooth finish with little to no fall out. When paired with a decent primer, it doesn’t crease or fade for a solid 8 to 10 hours. Each retails for $73.
Dior 5 Couleurs Polka Dots Eyeshadow Palette in 536 Escapade is the more neutral of the two palettes and features warm, subtle flattering shades of beige, pink, golden yellow, brown and white. The top left shade is a soft sandy beige with a satin finish, top right is a soft baby pale pink with a satin finish, the middle shade is a lovely icy white with a shimmer finish, the bottom left is a fresh pastel orange, almost melon shade with a satin finish and the bottom right is a soft coppery brown with a shimmer finish.
Dior 5 Couleurs Polka Dots Eyeshadow Palette in 366 Bain de Mer is the more fun, trendy colours of the two palettes and features cool shades of coral, beige, baby blue, sky blue and a nude. The top left shade is a coral/ mango with a satin finish, the top right is a stunning pale champagne with a slight shimmer, the middle shade is a soft apricot, the bottom left is an icy blue with a satin finish and the bottom right is an intensely bold turquoise with a satin finish.
Dior Eye Reviver Palette Illuminating Neutrals is a collection of ultra-luminous, universal neutral eyeshadows that help to open and brighten the eyes in 6 simple steps. The four eyeshadows are applied in conjunction with a primer and a liner, working in perfect harmony to create a smooth, even and wide-eyed look, while adding definition and brightness. It includes a total of 6 shades; a primer, 4 eyeshadows and a gel eyeliner to complete the look. Everything you need for a bright eyed look all in one sleek, silver mirrored compact. There’s an essential bone matte shade than can act as a base and all over primer to the entire lid, a versatile pink to help brighten the eyes, 3 muted nude shades, along with a brown eyeliner to help complete the entire look.
Dior Eye Reviver Palette Illuminating Neutrals comes in a sleek travel-friendly silver compact with full size mirror on the inside lid. It also comes with 2 mini brushes for easy application on the go, and surprisingly, the brush works quite well. This is everything you’re looking for in a neutral summer palette. It has a good mixture of shimmer, satin and matte set in a finely milled formula. Each shade seems to apply and blend into one another effortlessly to help add both dimension and depth in one single palette. Although the primer is completely matte it’s soft, smooth and silky texture applies with ease, like any other good eye base shade. It really does help prolong the wear time of each shade, without having to reach for another product. All 4 shadows are extremely pigmented, truly opaque and have absolutely no fallout. They complement each other beautifully, and I never find myself reaching for another eyeshadow colour outside of this palette when creating numerous looks. Each shade stays put the entire day without fading or creasing. The liner is the only shade I’m not sold on, in a pinch it works, but I still find myself reaching for my traditional felt-tip liner. Overall, this is an excellent palette for those looking for something that can easily take them from day to night, work to play and I believe it to look equally flattering on all skin tones. It retails for $72.

Not only can it be used to contour the face, the slightly lighter shade (depending on your complexion) can be used to highlight. It comes in Fresh Tan and Fresh Light and retails for $68 each.
Diorskin Nude Air Glow Powder in 001 Fresh Tan is slightly on the warmer side thanks to its warm bronze and soft coral combination.

Once buffed into the skin it becomes almost undetectable, never leaving behind a flat or dull finish. It gives a subtle warm sheen to the skin that helps to bring out your summer glow, while allowing your skin to breathe. Its amber light, pearlescent pigments blended with the perfect amount of copper pigmented giving the illusion of a sun-kiss tan without the harmful UV rays of the sun. It can be applied all over the face for a radiant glow, or onto the décolleté and shoulders for a highlight tanned effect. As you continue to wear it throughout the day, it actually becomes even more beautiful than when first applied. I think it has something to do with the warmth of your skin and your natural oils that help it to develop into an even more gorgeous luminous tan with no oxidation. It retails for $68.
Dior Addict Milky Tint is a brand new product for Dior this summer and is a cross between a lip gloss and lip tint. It comes in the same packaging as the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks, but with a shimmer-free, almost milky lip colour formula that provides a soft wash of colour to the lips with incredible moisture and shine. It gives a refreshing wet effect to the lips, with a milky glow-ish shine. Not sure what a milky glow is, think about after drinking a creamy milkshake and you’re left with a milky film on your lips, it’s kinda like that.
Dior Addict Milky Tint comes in a chic clear tube, so you’re able to see the shade within and comes with a tear shape foam applicator for easy application. It has an incredibly lightweight, almost wet consistency that glides onto the lips like silk. Although not boldly pigmented, it does provide soft, romantic wash of colour to the lips. It’s incredibly shiny and glossy, and as it slowly starts to fade, it leaves behind a slight stain. Not as intense as a liquid lipstick or tint would leave, but you are still able to see enough colour to know it’s there. It really is moisturizing, enough so, that I haven’t even been applying a lip balm the entire day, yet my lips feel comfortable and hydrated, without feeling sticky or goopy. It comes in 4 new shades, Milky Pastel, Milky Plum, Milky Peach and Milky Pop and retails for $43 each.
Dior Addict Milky Tint in Milky Plum is a soft, sheer, lovely pastel lilac and Dior Addict Milky Tint in Milky Peach is a warm, summertime coral.
The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer has been a favourite of mine for a while now, designed to give instant volume without the burning and stinging sensation of other lip plumper’s. It instantly helps to plump up the lips for a fuller, juicier, glossier finish thanks to its enriched collagen and unique blend of hyaluronic and marine-based filler formula. It has an almost jelly-like texture that doesn’t leave your lips feeling sticky or tacky and with the refreshing and slightly cooling sensation of vanilla mint. It’s incredibly lightweight and comfortable and adds just the perfect amount of moisture and shine to the lips. It not only plumps up the lips, it also helps to keep them soft, smooth and hydrated the entire day. The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in 006 Beige Sunrise is the perfect summertime nude, not too light and not too dark with just a hint of subtle shimmer that looks incredibly natural. It retails for $41.
