Who knew that the brains behind some of the most popular fragrances was Elizabeth Arden? I didn’t know this until I was invited to Elizabeth Arden’s Untold Launch Party last month. There we got to test out some of the latest fragrances that are about to hit shelves in the next few months including Elizabeth Arden’s “Untold”, Juicy Couture’s “Viva La Juicy Noir”, Taylor Swift’s “Taylor” by Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber’s ”The Key”.
Since 1922, Elizabeth Arden has been crafting fragrances as part of the brand’s holistic approach to beauty; you may remember and love some classics like Red Door, 5th Avenue and Green Tea? This coming August, Elizabeth Arden will introduce their latest fragrance, “Untold” which is a little adventurous, sometimes romantic, yet always confident, just like the many facets of the untold women.
Elizabeth Arden’s “Untold” was the showstopper of the night, not only because of its beautiful scent but because of its stunning bottle. Due to the subtle curvature of the bottle, it looks different at every angle, just as a women delights those around her with a new side to her at each moment. The fragrance is feminine, sophisticated, luxurious, modern and sensual, just like a women. The perfume uses only the highest quality ingredients to capture the different facets that, together, make the modern women intriguing and each note was selected to capture the unique characteristic of the “Untold” women.
Vibrant: Sparkling pink pepper fused with crisp bergamot exposes her vibrant optimism and joyful spirit.
Unpredictable: Playful, fruity scents of pear and blackcurrent bud evoke her unpredictable ways.
Refined: Delicate gardenia petals and intoxicating eygtetian jasmine reveal her romantic and sophisticated femininity.
Mysterious: Nuances of patchouli heart and sandalwood hint at her mysterious aura.
Sensual: Heated Ambers cascade over the caress of hypnotic musk unveiling her magnetic sensuality.
Untold will be available August 2013 and will retail for $95 for 100ml from Shoppers, The Bay, Sears and other fine retailers. Also in the collection is a 50ml for $75, a body cream for $54 and shower gel for $45.
Juicy Couture “Viva La Juicy Noir” is a striking pink metallic bottle and utilizes a complex metallization technique to create a liquid pink metal effect. A faceted glass cap tops the vintage inspired decanter bottle, etched with an iconic Juicy Couture crest. A black satin bow finishes the bottle and captures the seductive spirit of the night. The perfume was created for the daring women who leaves a lasting impression and is the life of the party, not afraid to show off and get noticed.
Bold: Opening with a hint of wild berries mixed with sparkling mandarin and succulent Mara strawberry, these notes capture the vibrant spirit of the Viva La Juicy girl.
Sensual: Mysterious and feminine, at its heart Viva La Juicy Noir boasts lush honeysuckle, beautiful gardenia petals and feminine jasmine sambac.
Arresting: Delicious notes of amber, caramel and creamy vanilla combine with sandal wood to create an addict finish to the scent.
Viva La Juicy Noir will be available August 2013 at Shoppers, The Bay, Sears and other fine retailers and will retail for $105 for 100ml. Also in the collection is a 50ml for $80, a 30ml for $65 and a rollerball for $30.
“Taylor” by Taylor Swift’s bottle is designed to embrace Taylor’s retro yet modern twist to fashion with delicate pearls on the neck of the bottle, while the faceted cap is a nod to Taylor’s love of crystal gems and bold patterns. This perfume was created for the fun-loving, easy going woman who wants a fragrance that matches her energetic spirit and individualized fashion sense.
Distinct: The fragrance begins with a burst of fresh fruits and flowers, blending luscious lychee and sparkling tangerine with a whisper of magnolia petals.
Magnetic: Evoking a sense of femininity, the middle is a blushing bouquet of some of Taylor’s favourite flowers-peonies, hydrangeas and vanilla orchards.
Captivating: Anchoring the base is creamy sandalwood, warmed by an inviting mixture of apricot, nectar, cashmere musk and a blend of woods.
Taylor will be available July 2013 at Shoppers and will be released everywhere else in December 2013 and will retail for $78 for 100ml. Also in the collection is a 50ml for $63, a body lotion for $36, a hair mist for $24 and a rollerball for $23.
Justin Bieber “The Key” bottle is modern, fresh and true to Justin’s style with its high gloss white finish bottle with accented bright gold key charm. The key represents an authentic symbol from Justin to his fans, reminding them to always believe. The perfume was created for his fans and channels Justin’s authentic voice to his fans to not only believe in themselves, but to believe in their connection with Justin, and most of all to believe that their dreams will come true.
Real: Top Notes, juicy mandarin, crisp pear, boysenberry and sweet osmanthus blossoms.
Personal: Middle Notes, pink jasmine, water lily and peach nectar.
Connected: Base Notes, luminous musks, precious woods and vanilla, with just a touch of raspberry cream.
The Key will be available August 2013 at Shoppers and will be released everywhere else in January 2014 and will retail for $70 for 100ml. Also in the collection is a 50ml for $60, a body lotion for $27 and a hair mist for $22.
I have to say its hard to pick my fave out of the 4, but the one I can’t wait to get my hands on (the full size bottle that is) would have to be Justin Bieber’s The Key
