A few weeks ago I had the honors of attending the Essence Spring and Summer 2014 Collection launch party that was every girls dream come true. Everything was decked out in rose gold, pink and metallic from the décor to the table settings, to the food and of course the collection. They also had an amazing dessert table that I may or may not have gained 5lb at, rose gold champagne and of course new, fun, exciting and sparkly cosmetics.

Essence Metal Glam Collection

Essence Spring and Summer 2014 Collection will add some sizzle to your day and evening looks with its bright shades of bold metallic and glittery accents that give your eyes and nails an unforgettable look this season. Lashes will be blacker and bigger, bronzers and highlighters unite and your nails will be showstoppers and more creative.

The product I got most excited about would have to be the new Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow that features a mix between metallic and shimmer to light up your eyes this spring. It comes housed in a clear plastic container, so you’re able to see the shade within, and a flat flip lid for easy stacking. It has a soft and silky smooth texture that has a very thin shimmery overlay that’s gone within one or two swipes and you’re then just left with the beautiful metallic eyeshadow underneath. It’s extremely pigmented, one swipe is more than enough to give a vibrant pop of colour, but I find it difficult to blend, almost next to impossible, so be careful where you place the colour. It wears for an entire 10 hours with no creasing or smudging when worn with a primer and comes in 6 new shades and retails for $2.99.

It comes in a sleek, sliver with black lettering tube and has plastic bristles with a unique shape that gives great separation, length, and lift to the lashes. It has a heavier, more wet formula that is silky and smooth and applies beautifully to each lash. I get extremely long lashes with no clumping or dry, flaky lashes thanks to its silky formula and it also gives great volume to each lash that’s never stiff or crunchy. It retails for $4.99.

Essence Crystal Eyeliner is a gel-based formula that features a precision brush applicator to create long, lasting, glittery eyes. It has an ultra-fine brush tip that helps for never over-apply, it’s quick drying so the glitter stays put and makes it easy to apply layers to intensify your look. It’s not opaque so you’re going to want to apply a few layers, try pairing it over black eyeliner to intensify the colour and sparkle. It comes in 5 fun colours and retails for $2.99.
