When first getting into figuring out how to wear pastels, my first tip is not to overdo it. Try and keep both your hair and makeup simple and let the soft and feminine hues of the pastels do that talking. The rest of your accessories should also be extremely subtle to ensure it doesn’t overpower and take away from the romantic effect of the look. Remember, pastel shades are already pretty girly, no need to fuss and obsess over minor details, let the outfit speak for itself.
If you’re scared to go full-on pastel, or if you tend to gravitate towards black, white, grey and navy, you can always tone down your pastel look with a neutral base. Of course another great option for rocking the pastel trend this summer, without committing to an entire outfit, is start with some soft and sweet accessories. A simple baby pink, pale blue or creamsicle orange statement necklace or a rainbow arm party in pretty pastel colours, can make any basic outfit pop. If you’re not into the whole ladylike look, try balancing out the look with a more edgy piece, like a leather bomber or strappy black heels.
