John Frieda Frizz-Ease Collection

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Collection

My hair has John Frieda to thank this month; I’ve been playing with some of John Frieda Frizz-Ease Collection and I’ve never had shinier, smoother, more manageable hair in my life. With the humidity we have here in Canada, I’m always fighting frizz and fly-a-ways, no matter how often I straighten my hair or how much product I put in it, it seems to be an on-going battle. Now with thanks to these top 5 Frizz-Ease products, I’ll never have to worry about frizz again.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Formula Hair Serum is award winning and instantly transforms dry, frizzy or chemically treated hair into smooth, glossy hair. It contains Silk Protein and a blend of silicones to smoothen hair and give tresses shine while repelling humidity to prevent weather-related frizz.

Frizz-Ease Original Formula Hair Serum comes in a plastic pump bottle, the serum is clear and has thick, almost gel texture to it that surprisingly doesn’t weigh your hair down. It has a slight citrus/ fruity scent to it that leaves you hair smelling fresh and clean.

You apply Frizz-Ease Original Formula Hair Serum to soaking-wet hair by dispensing a small amount of serum into palms, and smooth through wet hair, distributing evenly, avoiding the roots, before blow drying and styling. A little goes a long way, it’s recommended you only need one pump, but with my short hair, I found a half a pump is sufficient. I was easily able to get only a half a pump, by pushing half way down, therefore never wasting product.

The serum spreads easily and leaves my hair feeling silky, shiny, and extremely smooth and with less frizz. There is no greasy feeling whatsoever if you use the correct amount and I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that has dry or frizz-prone hair or anyone who likes to add a little life and shine to their hair as well. It retails for $11.99 for 24ml, which is perfect for travel size and/ or your purse, or $15.99 for 50ml.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Sheer Solution fights frizz without weighing hair down, leaving hair light and manageable whether you style straight or curly and it is designed for fine to medium hair. It contains both a smoothing lotion and lightweight serum that you shake to mix the products both together.

Frizz-Ease Sheer Solution comes in a cylindrical, plastic bottle with a small round opening at the top of the bottle where the product drips out of. The drops come out very tiny which makes it easy to control how much you dispense. Even though it looks purple in the bottle, the solution comes out clear, with a thin, almost runny texture to it. It has the same slight citrus/ fruity scent to it that leaves your hair smelling fresh and clean.

You apply Frizz-Ease Sheer Solution by shaking the dual formula together and then dispense 10 drops into the palm of your hands, rub together before working through damp hair. Again, since I have such short hair, I found that 4-5 drops is plenty.

This is a very lightweight solution which doesn’t weigh my hair down and keeps it smooth and hydrated all day long. Not only does it reduce frizz during styling, but it conditions the hair from the inside and delivers nutrients deep down to the strands. It retails for $12.99 for 60ml.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Crème smoothes away frizz and keeps hair silky-straight for up to 24 hours while helping block humidity. Its ThermaGuard® formula helps protect against damage from heat tools such as blow-dryers and flat irons and contains sweet almond oil and milk protein to smooth and condition the hair.

Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Crème comes in an opaque, pearl white squeeze tube with flip cap lid. It’s white in colour with a thick, rich, creamy consistency. Even though it’s white in colour out of the bottle, it applies clear and no one will ever know you have product in your hair. It has a wonderful almond scent with hints of citrus to it.

You apply Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Crème to wet or damp hair by dispensing a pea size amount to palms and rub together before distributing evenly from root to tip and then continue on with your blow drying and styling.

Although it does a great job at keeping my dead straight hair under control and with less frizz, and it protects it against heat damage, I find it a little too rich for my short, thin hair and it weighted it down too much. I do believe this would be wonderful for someone with thick, curly or coarse hair as it’s a thicker crème and it will really keep the frizz at bay. It retails for $11.99 for 145ml.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Heat Defeat Protective Styling Spray helps condition and straighten hair when using heat tools and also helps to block humidity, rehydrate hair and keeps it smooth and straight for up to 24 hours. It ThermaGuard® formula helps protect against damage from heat tools such as blow-dryers and flat irons and contains Jojoba oil and humectants to help silken strands and replenishes moisture.

Frizz-Ease Heat Defeat Protective Styling Spray comes in an opaque, pearl white trigger spray bottle that helps to evenly distribute product throughout the hair. It’s lightweight, sprays onto the hair clear and has a nice fruity scent to it.

You apply Frizz-Ease Heat Defeat Protective Styling Spray to towel-dried hair, spray liberally and evenly from roots to ends and then blow-dry hair straight using fingers to pull sections out and down.

Not only does this help in the straightening of my hair, it helps protect against heat damage. It leaves my hair silky, shiny and smooth although it doesn’t control the frizz as much as the rest of the Frizz-Ease line. I also found the trigger sprays sometimes hard to work with, sometimes a jet of product would come out rather than just a mist (maybe the opening gets clogged) but to get around this, I’ve just been spraying the product onto my brush and then combing it through, seems to work better this way… for me anyways. It retails for $11.99 for 175ml.
