Washbeautyco
Although not a new product, in fact the Japanese have been using it for centuries, I just recently started using Konjac Sponges. washbeautyco. by MaskerAide Konjac Sponge gets you back to basics with a simple and clean skincare product. It’s Canada’s first premier konjac sponge, which comes from a potato-like plant in Asia. It’s extremely gentle and 100% biodegradable and it gently cleanses both the face and body. It’s the softest and most gentle, yet high effective skin cleansing product on the market. It’s been proven too deeply cleanse the skin without stripping it of its natural oils or damaging the skin. It’s more effective than your hands or a washcloth, but gentle enough to use daily. Konjac fibres naturally cleanse and suck up daily impurities like dirt, blackheads and excess oil without stripping your skin of essential moisture.
Washbeautyco Konjac Sponges come in two different textures, the original which is ideal for all skin types and Bamboo Charcoal for those with oily and acne prone skin. I’ve actually been using the original, the white one, on my face and the charcoal, the black one, on my body. Both act as a gentle exfoliator, although the charcoal one is a little more abrasive, and sloths off all dead skin cells in a matter of seconds. The extra soft texture ensures its safe enough to use on everyone, even those with super sensitive skin.
Washbeautyco Konjac Sponges are super easy to use, it will be dry and hard at first, but by simply running it under warm water, until it’s completely soaked through, it will become incredibly soft, almost jelly-like. Once wet and puffy, squeeze out excess water and massage and buff into the skin. You can simply use the flat side in a circular motion around your face to exfoliate and remove all traces of dirt, oil and grime. Of course, this will not remove full coverage foundation or water-proof mascara, but it removes every day makeup. You can use it on its own, with only water, or pair it with your favourite cleanser. It will also help to stimulate tired and dull skin and encourage skin renewal. When finished, rinse, gently squeeze out extra water and set to dry. To sterilize, pop into boiling water in a bowl of water and place into microwave for 60 seconds to get rid of bacteria and germs. It should last about 2 months with daily use if taken proper care of.
If you’re looking to take your skincare routine to an entirely different level, I suggest picking up a Washbeautyco Konjac Sponge. Not only does it provide you with the deepest clean possible, it’s just fun to use. It retails for $14.
