L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Collection Review

Perfecting Skincare Products

I never knew the peony could be so beneficial to the skin, but after 5 years of research, L’Occitane has discovered the power of this incredible flower in skin perfecting. By using enzymatic hydrolysis, a process that allows the molecules of the peony extracts to be broken down into micro-fragments that are even more active on the skin, the new L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Collection, meaning sublime peony, was born.

This innovated and unique line of perfecting skincare products is suitable for all complexions and helps to “perfect” skin, no matter your skin tone or type. It hydrates, corrects uneven skin texture, reduces fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores, to help enhance one’s natural complexion. It used naturally derived skin-perfecting ingredients such as peony extract, which helps to correct skin texture, hyaluronic acid to help intensely hydrate, horse chestnut extract to give the appearance of fresh glowing skin, mineral-based pigments & interferential pearlisers to help reflect light and adapt to all skin tones, along with natural powders to help smooth the skin.

Keeping with the peony theme is the newly designed L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette. Although it launched back in 2010, it comes in a brand new packaging, designed by Olivier Baussan, founder of L’Occitane, and ties beautifully into the L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Collection.

L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette is a fresh green floral that used peony extracts from Drôme in France and comes in a beautiful pink, round glass bottle that’s engraved with petals. It has top notes of grapefruit and bergamot, middle notes of peony and roses, and base notes of sandalwood and musk.

Something about the L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette just screams summer to me. Maybe it’s the fresh floral, blended with the zesty freshness of citrus, or the natural smooth and soft notes of white musk and sandalwood, but it has me daydreaming of warm summer days and cool, crisp nights. It retails for $55 for 75ml.
