We’re in Calgary, yahoo! We took the 3 hour drive from Edmonton to Calgary and couldn’t be happier. Of course we had to stop in the CrossIron Mall, the first enclosed shopping centre to open in Alberta in 20 years. It features over 100 outlets and over 200 different stores and premium brands; a shopaholics dream. Our original plan was to wake up early on Saturday morning, drive to Calgary, do a little shopping, then head into Banff in the afternoon. Since we ended up in the ER on Friday evening and didn’t get to sleep till after 4AM, we decided to just spend the day at CrossIron Mall and stay the night in Calgary before heading into Banff of Sunday. Turns out me getting sick was in our favor, we would have never been able to get everything done in one day. It was way less stressful and not as rushed over the course of 2 days. No way would we have been able to shop, see Banff and Lake Louise all in one day, considering we had a total of 9 hours to and from Banff from Edmonton.
