Cheek Palette 

I know I’m a little late on the limited edition Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette, as it was released for the holidays, but I’m just getting around to using it. I couldn’t bring myself to purchase it back in December, but luckily for me, the hubby got it for Valentine’s Day. I’m pretty sure it’s sold out in stores, but you can still pick it up online at Sephora. If you’re unfamiliar with this palette, it basically takes some of Nars bestselling powders, along with a few limited edition shades, and combines them into one handy, travel palette. It comes with a highlighting blush, three blushes and a bronzer that effortlessly allows you to create an array of cheek looks for a modern, sexy look.

Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette is a beautiful and chic palette with a white abstract floral design pattern overlay and a large full size mirror on the inside lid. It contains the cult-fave, Laguna Bronzing Powder, and a defiant favourite of mine. It’s one of the few bronzers that I’ve actually hit pan on, so it’s nice to have a backup. It’s a medium brown with gold shimmer that applied beautifully to the face. Deep Throat is a shade I’ve been looking at for a while, but never seemed to pick up. It’s a beautiful sheer peach with gold shimmer throughout. Miss Liberty Highlighting Blush is a soft shimmering peach with a ton of sparkle and sheen. It’s more a dramatic highlighter than I’m used to, but it adds the perfect amount of sparkle to the cheekbones for a night out. I think it might be too dramatic for daytime use, but is perfect for the evening. Sex Fantasy is the first limited edition shade and is a pale lavender pink with a matte finish. It has a cool undertone that instantly brightens up the entire face. It is, however, fairly powdery, and isn’t the most pigmented, but you can easily build it up. And last, but not least, Final Cut, the second limited edition shade is a peach coral shade with a matte finish.

I truly think Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette is a great addition to anyone’s collection. It combines everything you need to contour, highlight and sculpt the cheeks in one slim, travel friendly design. All the shades worked beautifully together and the formula is fantastic. I did find the quality a little less pigmented than the standalone versions, but overall, still impressed. Each shade still had pretty good colour payoff, is easily buildable and blends out beautifully. Each shade has a fairly rich and creamy texture, with little to no fallout. A few of the shades, the limited edition ones, seem to be a little more powdery than the others, but nothing I couldn’t work with. Each shade adheres to the skin, prolonging the wear time. I had no problem getting 8 to 10 hours without fading.

If you were ever looking to try a few of these shades, it is worth spending the extra few dollars and getting this Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette. If you bought a bronzer and blush on its own, it would run you $70, so $75 for this, isn’t really that expensive. It comes with a $174 value.
