Pink Dress
Pastel may have been perfect for spring, but summer is all about bold and brights. From weddings, picnics, backyard BBQ’s and everything in between, a hot pink dress is perfect for all occasions. I scored this hot pink lace dress from Zara last week for under $25. It was a total score. It’s a show-stopping addition to my summer wardrobe. Its ladylike. The dress is ultra-flattering. Its bright and cheerful. It’s the perfect summer dress. The classic A-shape is perfect for all body types, but its loose-fitting midsection is perfect for those wanting to hide a tummy.
I hot pink dress can be just as feminine and sophisticated as the classic LBD, but it also shows your playful side. Just be sure you pay attention to fit, cut and material. Look for something with visual interest, like lace or a scallop edge. If you’re not typically into bubble gum pink, you can pair it with more neutral colours, like black, to help ground it and give it a more adult feel. Pink is universally flattering on most people, just look for the right undertone. Pink is definitely a staple piece in a summertime wardrobe.
It goes with pretty much everything and is a fun way to play with colour. Black moto jacket and stiletto heels for a more edgy look, a denim jacket and nude flats for weekend wear, or fancy pumps and statement clutch for any special occasions or weddings. No matter how casual or fancy you feel that day, a hot pink dress is the perfect piece to wear.
