It’s that time of year again, the Sephora Collection Makeup Brushes, Tools And Accessories for Spring 2015 has arrived. I couldn’t control myself, too many pretty brushes and accessories to help take my makeup game to an entirely different level this season.
Sephora Collection Different Strokes Brush Set is a net of natural and synthetic brushes, perfect for providing effortless application while on the go. The kit contains an all over face brush, for easy all over face application, a curved foundation brush, that not only allows for an airbrush finish, but can also be used for contouring, a shadow brush for really packing on the eyeshadow, a crease brush for applying darker shades to the crease and an angled liner brush, beautifully packaged in a faux pebble leather, coral zip-up pouch. It retails for $68, but comes with a $98 value.
Sephora Collection So Fit and So Fly Gym Kit is the perfect accessory for the gym. This has everything you’ll need at the gym, without sacrificing your look. The durable travel pouch is large enough for all your essentials, or favourite products, along with a shower cap that is 12” in diameter to fit even the longest of hair, 3 comfortable elastic hair ties to protect blow outs, 3 head bands to keep hair in place without creasing the hair, along with a wide-tooth detangling comb that safely untangles wet hair. It retails for $23.
Sephora Collection Look Color In The Eye Brush Capsule is a limited-edition five-piece travel brush set that comes in a sleek, portable rose gold case. It features 5 brushes that help apply shadows effortlessly for a natural to dramatic eye all in one kit. Its handles are dipped in vibrant colours with soft, black bristles. This stylish set contains an angled shadow brush, domed shadow brush, small shadow brush, angled liner brush and a smudge brush all for only $28, but comes with an $82 value.
Sephora Collection Cleaning Me Softly Facial Cleansing Brush is a gentle, yet deep-cleaning neck and face brush. It features super soft bristles to ensure deep and invigorating clean while being gentle enough to use daily. Its long, curved handle allows for easy and comfortable cleaning on even the most difficult areas on both the face and neck. Although not quite as good as the Clarisonic, this would be a great option for those looking to experiment with cleansing brushes, before biting the bullet on a more expensive one. It retails for $13.
Sephora Collection Pro Contour Blender Brush #77 blends foundation and complexion contour products beautifully. It comes packaged in a plastic cover over the brush head to help protect the brush when not in use. It has incredibly soft, yet dense synthetic bristles that are curved to hug your jawline, under the cheekbone and forehead for an even and seamless finish. Contouring is all the range right now, and this brush will easily allow you to contour the cheekbone, minimize your jawline and define the bridge of your nose for a sculpted look, that’s right on trend. It works on both powders, liquid and cream products, such a versatile brush. It retails for $43.
Sephora Collection Long Lashing: Contoured Eyelash Comb is a metal lash comb that has vertical teeth, so you’re able to hold the handle parallel to your lash line, instead of perpendicular, which allows for easier combing. No more holding it at weird angles, just hold it above the lashes and brush down. It does an excellent job at separating the lashes, and perfect for those days when you apply too much mascara and it starts to get clumpy. Added bonus, it has a collapsible handle for easy storing and travelling. It retails for $18.
Sephora Collection Pure Extract Facial Cleansing Pads are specifically designed for all skin types and feature grape leaf extract, olive seed, and vitamin E to provide a natural and gentle exfoliation. Not only does is remove dead skin cells, dirt, grime and impurities, it helps to nourish the skin. It also helps improve the appearance of elasticity while hydrating without being too abrasive. It’s safe enough to use daily. To use, simply massage onto face in circular motions, with or without cleanser and then rinse the sponge of excess water before lying flat to dry. It retails for $13 for a set of 2.
Sephora Collection Hide and Sleek Skinny Cheek Contour Brush is a retractable cheek contour brush that comes packaged in a slim, sleek and elegant rose gold case. This may just be a great option for those not willing to spend the $55 on the Nars Kabuki Ita Brush? Its firm, yet soft synthetic fibers, easily contour all corners of the face for seamless blending. It works beautifully for contouring, but you will need a slightly larger brush to blend out the colour. Love that it hides away, when not in use, keeping your bristles clean in your makeup bag. It’s perfect for on the go. It retails for $20.
Sephora Collection Hide and Sleek Skinny Foundation Retractable Brush, is much like the contour brush, with the same retractable, rose gold case, only it’s used for applying all sorts of foundation formulas for a perfect and even coverage. It too has synthetic fibers that allow for seamless application and easy cleaning. It retails for $20.
Sephora Collection Hide and Sleek Skinny Lip Retractable Brush is the final brush in the hide and sleek line and is meant for applying your lip products. Sadly to say, I’m not too impressed with this brush. Although it has synthetic brushes, there just isn’t enough of them. It has a hard time picking up any product and even harder to get an even application. You also have to push the bristles back down in the tube when you’re done, which means your fingers are going to get lipstick on them. Not the smartest packaging, if you ask me? I would save your $15.
Sephora Collection In the Nude Hair Ties in 8 sophisticated neutral shades. Although I cannot pull my hair back into a pony any more, I remember how painful it was and how I always ended up with creases after only a few short minutes. These no-tug, no-crease hair ties are comfortable to wear the entire day and don’t leave huge bumps in the hair afterwards. These loose hair ties are tight enough to keep hair pulled back without the tension of traditional elastics that can cause hair breakage and headaches. Also how cute are these, you won’t have to worry about having them around your wrist when your hair is down, as they double as a bracelets. It retails for $11 for a set of 8.
Sephora Collection Express Cleansing & Exfoliating Wipes are a double-sided wipe for effective makeup removal and a gentle exfoliation. The first side helps remove all traces of makeup, dirt and oil, while the other side exfoliates the skin and removes dead skin cells for a soft and radiant finish. Even though the one side is rougher, it’s still soft enough to use daily, strong enough that they don’t fall apart and moist enough to thoroughly cleanse the skin. It also did a surprisingly decent job at removing waterproof mascara without stinging or irritating my eyes. It retails for $11.
Sephora Collection Detox It Out: Charcoal Swabs allow for easy makeup fixes. I think these are kinda gimmicky and play into the huge trend of charcoal skincare products at the moment. I know charcoal is great for removing impurities from the skin, but in a cotton swab, I think it’s just more for show? These 100% spiral cotton swabs are dual-ended and infused with charcoal to help remove dirt and oil. The one end is slightly smaller, allowing for precise cleaning and fixing, whereas the other side is slightly larger and is great for makeup application. Of course, the added bonus to these is it allows you to see lighter colours, such as eyeshadow and highlighters more easily than a traditional white cotton swab. Don’t worry about the colour transferring onto your skin, it doesn’t rub off, even when used wet. It retails for $11 for 30 of them. I just think you could get thousands of regular swabs at cheaper price, but these would be a fun tool to pull out of your makeup case for professional makeup artists.
