As much as I love my Beauty Blender for applying my favourite foundation and BB creams, its expensive, $26 price tag has me looking for different alternatives. The Sephora Collection features 3 different sponges that give a perfectly airbrush finish we all look for, with a price everyone can afford.
The Sephora Collection The Painter Airbrush Sponge is a pale orange shade that features a large, rounded ergonomic end that’s easy to grip and makes foundation application a breeze. Its slanted end helps cover up blemishes and imperfection, gets into smaller areas of the face and helps to contour around the eyes and nose. The rounded side helps to blend larger areas of the face with its bounce-like sponge that allows for easy stippling to create a streak-free, airbrushed, flawless looking finish. It can be used both wet and dry, but preferred method is damp. Start by placing it under running water, gently squeeze out the excess water and watch as it instantly doubles in size. Dot on your favourite foundation to different areas of the face, use the round side to stipple it around the face, alternating between both sides to get into all areas of the face. It retails for $14.
Sephora Collection The Perfector Sponge is hot pink and features a small pointed tip that’s easy to grip and perfect for getting into small crevices of the face. Not only is it perfect for applying foundation, it works wonders when applying concealer thanks to its precise tip. It’s easy to blend out your concealer, but also works wonders when applying cream blushes. Like all sponges, it too can be applied both dry and wet and the versatility of this sponge makes application process in the morning a breeze. It retails for $14.
Sephora Collection Double Take BB/CC Cream Sponge has a velvet lining on the one side with the same texture as a traditional sponge on the other. The velvet side is perfect for thinner, lighter formulas of foundation, like BB creams, CC creams and tinted moisturizers, as it easily glides on the foundation without absorbing them. The traditional side is still perfect for stippling on the foundation and blending it out for a flawless, airbrushed effect. This is the perfect summertime sponge for those days when a heavy foundation just won’t do. It retails for $10.
Sephora Collection Tropicolor Ribbon Hair Ties feature 8 bright, neon, fun and playful, bracelet style hair ties. Although I cannot pull my hair back into a pony any more, I remember how painful it was and how I always ended up with creases after only a few short minutes. These no-tug, no-crease hair ties are comfortable to wear the entire day and don’t’ leave huge bumps in the hair afterwards. These loose hair ties are tight enough to keep hair pulled back without the tension of traditional elastics that can cause hair breakage and headaches. Also how cute are these, you won’t have to worry about having them around your wrist when you’re hair is down, as they double as a bracelets. It retails for $11 for a set of 8.
