Awaken creativity to reveal undiscovered beauty
Street artist design with bold, bright, colourful and vibrant shades to bring life to concrete cityscapes and the new limited edition Shu Uemura Vision of Beauty Collection Vol. 2 Haute Street Fall 2015 collection plays on these colour palettes. The artwork in this collaboration between Shu and Oyama Enrico Isamu Letter is white, with a hint of black, minimalistic, yet spontaneous, just like Oyama’s signature “Quick Turn Structure” designs. The collection was inspired by the concept of “haute street” and portrays the fluid multi-form of street art and beauty. It’s about awakening creativity and discovering new aspects of one’s own beauty in her everyday life.
Shu Uemura Haute Street Eye Shadow Palette comes in a white, slim, sleek and chic compact, with graffiti-style graphics on the outside lid, with refillable shadows found within. It has a buttery soft and incredibly creamy texture with an array of easy to wear neutrals to eye-catching pearls. Its velvety smooth consistency glides across the lid smoothly and evenly, with little to no fallout. It has an absolutely lightweight, almost finely milled formula that blends into each shade easily for a completely seamless finish. Although the shadows are on the sheerer side of the pigmentation scale, I actually prefer this when it comes to bold and bright colours. These softer shades are much more wearable than those with full opacity that no one actually ends up wearing. Both palettes effortlessly allow you to achieve a beautiful autumn inspired look with definition, with stunning accent shades to add a fun pop of colour. It stays put the entire day without creasing, smudging or budging. It retails for $90 each.
Shu Uemura Haute Street Eye Shadow Palette in Warm x Vibrant palette comes with 6 warm tone shadows, including a chocolate brown matte, a mauve with a shimmer finish, another mauve with a slight satin finish, a pale pink with a shimmer finish, a vermillion with a pearlescent finish and an orange with a shimmer finish.
Shu Uemura Haute Street Eye Shadow Palette in Cool x Chic palette comes with 6 cool tone shadows, including a black matte, a purplish grey with a shimmer finish, a stunning lavender with a semi-matte finish, a purple with a shimmer finish, a sky blue with a shimmer finish and a light green also with a shimmer finish.
Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato Lip Color helps you create both soft flushed cheeks and dewy stained lips. You know I’m obsessed with multi-functional products. It comes in a squeeze tube, which I’m normally not a fan of, but its paint-tub inspired packaging is surprisingly fairly easy to use. It has a fresh and creamy, almost gelato-like formula that’s a breeze to work with. Its unique texture magically changes from a thick to thin layer of variations of finish from intensely dewy to soft matte finishes. When applying to the lips, simply use the applicator for an effortlessly smooth and easy application with a semi-matte finish. When using as a blush colour, I suggest just blending it out with your fingertips for a satiny matte finish with a healthy glow. Its innovated mousse texture blends into both the skin and lips flawlessly and sets and dries within seconds. You can easily apply an added pop of colour to both your lips and sheer wash of colour to your cheeks within seconds. It comes in 4 new shades, Urban Coral, Graffiti Orange, City Dusk and Street Rose and retails for $28 each.
Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato Lip Color in Street Rose is a sweet, dusty pink and Graffiti Orange is a splash of flashy orange.
Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick comes in two different textures for two completely different haute street looks. It has the same rich and creamy texture that you’ve come to love from this signature lipstick, but with a central and supreme shine finish. It has an extremely lightweight, rich and creamy texture that provides intense, vibrant colour thanks to its highly pigmented formula. It glides onto the lips smoothly and evenly without tugging or pulling on the skin. It’s comfortable to wear the entire day, without the need of a lip balm and it never feels too heavy, tight or drying. The staying power is amazing, a solid 5+ hours before slowly starting to fade. Even though these shades are fairly bold and bright, they don’t seem to bleed or feather outside of the line. It comes in 4 new shades, City Neon, Avenue Sunset, Brick Burgundy and Highway Pink and retails for $36 each.
Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick in City Neon is a bright, neon pink diamond and Avenue Sunset is a magical red.
Shu Uemura Dual-Ended Eye Color Pencil provides vivid colour that can be used as an accent liner along the edge of the eyelid, or along the eye socket, to create a subtle gradation around the entire eye. It can also double as an eye shadow in combination with similar eyeshadow hues or even as an eye shadow base to intensify and increase colour payoff. It comes in a pencil format that will require sharpening with a slightly drier and stiffer texture. I’m not going to lie, you have to be pretty careful when applying, as it does tend to pull and tug on the lash line a little. I find it a little too dry to use as a liner, as I couldn’t get a precise line, but as an all over wash of colour or as an eyeshadow base, it works beautifully. It’s fairly easy to blend out and helps prolong the wear time of any shadow I apply overtop. It comes in 2 limited edition shades of Cool x Chic, in shades of neon green and neon blue and Warm x Vibrant, in shades of neon yellow and neon pink and retails for $30 each.
Also in the collection are two new Drawing Pencils and a Collector’s Edition Brush Set.
