Words to live by
This summer, Starbucks is spreading Good Energy across Canada with Ready-to-Drink Refreshers. These flavored drinks are not only refreshing on hot summer days, but provide a natural boost of energy for when you’re on the go.
To kick off this campaign, Starbucks asked me, what words I live by to bring me good energy, motivate me and keep me energized. My good energy quote of inspiration is: “Just be yourself, life is too short to be someone else”.
This quote was inspired by my hero, my best friend of 18 years, my maid-of-honor, my faux sister, Kristen. She was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer at the age of 7 and although she was without a voice box, well an anatomical one, she always saw the good in things. She had years of surgeries, doctor’s visits, chemotherapy, radiation and hospital stays, but that never slowed her down. Although she was without hair, had a permanent hole in her throat to allow her to breathe and may have looked smaller and younger than her age, she never let people get to her, she never wished to be someone else, and always lived life to the fullest. Kristen lost her battle to cancer in 2008 and it was on that day, that I realized that I need to just be myself, cause life is too short to be someone else.
I’ve had the honor of testing out all 3 Ready-to-Drink Starbucks Refreshers and all I can say is… I want more. All 3 flavors have a light, slightly fruity taste that doesn’t taste artificial at all. These lightly sparkling beverages are made with real fruit juice, Vitamin B and natural occurring caffeine from green coffee extracts. These are a delicious way of energizing and recharging yourself when you’re on the go this summer. I love the tall slim can and the fact I don’t have to mix, shake or add any other ingredients to it. Also love that these little pick-me-ups are only 90 calories per can, way better than having a soda or coffee.
It comes in 3 refreshing flavors of Strawberry Lemonade, Blueberry Açaí and Raspberry Pomegranate and can be found at mass merchandisers, grocery stores and gas stores across Canada for only $2.99 per 355ml can.

You may remember my amazing Alice + Olivia mug (found several times on my Instagram feed) or other innovative partnerships with fashion elite including collabs with Christian Siriano, Jonathan Adler, Rodarte and Charlotte Ronson and now they’ve teamed up with Band of Outsiders to introduce the latest of its design collaborations. It’s inspired by designer Scott Sternberg’s favourite coffee slang, “drip,”. The Band of Outsiders for Starbucks Limited Edition Designer Ceramic Mugs feature black or multi-coloured paint dripping down Starbucks signature coffee cups. It features a white press-in lid with silicone seal which helps prevent spills, while the ceramic mug’s double wall construction to help retain heat while keeping hands cool. It was just released yesterday at participating Starbucks locations for $16.95, so if you’re looking to get one, run don’t walk. I’m already having a hard time locating one, 3 of my Starbucks are already sold out.
To kick off this campaign, I’ve teamed up with Starbucks to give you a Starbucks Good Energy Giveaway Refreshers Good Energy On-The-Go Gift Pack worth over $150.
