Give & Take
It’s that time of year, Trade Secrets annual Give & Take Appliance Trade-In Campaign, their 10th year to be exact. If you remember my recent trip to Jamaica (I featured the entire trip on this fashion blog), in which the resort broke my CHI flat iron, you know that I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement one ever since. It hops over to energy saving mode at a resting temperature when not in use and automatically shuts off at 60 minutes. This is a huge advantage for me, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been out, thinking “did I turn off my flat iron”.
Like all flat irons, I tend to start at the lowest setting with my new Avanti Ultra Diamond Nano-Ceramic and Tourmaline 1 Inch Flat Iron and build up the heat as desired. I create perfectly pin-straight hair by gathering small locks of hair, about a few centimeters in width, comb it and place it between the plates while holding firmly between the plates and slide the hair slowly from the roots to the tip of the hair. I’m not going to lie, this is one magical straightener. Not only does it get my hair amazingly straight, it leaves it looking incredibly shiny. It also helps with frizz, no fly-a-ways means I don’t have to apply any greasy oils throughout the day to help manage this. Less product in my hair is okay by me.
