My skin is very grateful that I’m a beauty blogger. I’ve had an amazing opportunity to test out two different skin care lines this month, and my skin is finally glowing. First up with my personalized skin care routine from Paula’s Choice, and these past few weeks it’s been all about Vichy. They’ve just launched a new and exciting online campaign called Vichy Works For Me and I was lucky enough to be a part of it. It’s a digital campaign created to help women find their ideal skin at every stage of life, drawing in over 80 years of skin care expertise. Vichy did a personal skin analysis on me, where they learned more about my life, my skin care routines and my bad habits, which all have various factors on the effect of my overall skin health. They helped me discover my ideal skin through a short questionnaire and were able to recommend products that are best suited for my lifestyle. To say I was excited to start my personalized Vichy routine, was an understatement.
I was set up on a 9 piece system which, like the Paula’s Choice routine, may seem like a lot of products at the beginning, but you’ll quickly see results and understand why there’s so many. My unique system is all about hydration and moisture, as we all know I suffer from extremely dry skin.
The first step in any skin care routine is removing daily makeup, dirt and grime, along with impurities and excess sebum from the face. The brand new Vichy Pureté Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil does just that. It gently removes all traces of makeup, even waterproof formula, for completely cleansed, soft and nourished skin. It’s formulated with camellia oil to improve softness, radiance and smoothness with every use.
Vichy Pureté Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil comes in an easy to use pump style bottle that starts off as an oil, but once massaged onto a dry face with a few drops of water, it instantly turns into a rich and creamy milky texture. It immediately removes all traces of makeup without leaving skin feeling tight, dry or with a nasty greasy or oily residue. It also helps to leave skin feeling extremely nourished. It retails for $19.95 for 125ml.
Vichy Pureté Thermale Fresh Cleansing Gel helps to remove all impurities, such as pollution, particles, dust and excess sebum, while limiting discomfort due to hard water that can cause the skin to be irritated and uncomfortable. It’s formulated with glycerine and a unique amilite technology to help produce a rich, unctuous lather that gently cleanses without leaving the sensation of tightness.
Vichy Pureté Thermale Fresh Cleansing Gel also comes in a pump style bottle with a silky, gel-like texture that comes to a rich and foamy lather that gently cleanses the skin. This is my go-to morning cleanser as it has an invigorating fruity fragrance that helps to awaken my senses for a fresh and clean feeling in the am. I’ve tried it a few times in the evening, and while it doesn’t completely remove makeup, it does a wonderful job at removing dirt and oil from the night before. It washes clean away without feeling tight or dry. It leaves my skin feeling refreshing and hydrated, without stripping it of its natural oils. It helps to improve skin’s softness, by adding moisturize and leaves my skin ready to take on the day. It retails for $19.95 for 200ml.
Vichy Pureté Thermale 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser is a multi-purpose product that acts as both a cleansing milk, toner and eye makeup remover.
Vichy Pureté Thermale 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser is my nightly cleanser as its 3-in1 formula saves me time in the evening when I just want to go to sleep. It also has a slightly thicker and creamy texture than the Vichy Pureté Thermale Fresh Cleansing Gel, which is great for adding hydration while I sleep. It has a unique milky gel texture that’s as soft as milk and fresh as lotion. It leaves my skin feeling incredibly comfortable the entire evening. It never feels tight, greasy or oily and I love the no rinse formula. Simply apply with a cotton pad and watch as it instantly washes away the day, no need for a toner or water. I apply my moisturizer over top and I’m off to bed, it’s probably the quickest cleanser you can use in the PM. It retails for $19.95 for 200ml.
Vichy ProEVEN Brightening Cleansing Foam gently exfoliates the skin without any irritation. It helps to control melanin production to reveal a bright, more even looking complexion in a few short weeks. We all know that excess accumulation of dead skin cells on the skin’s surface can cause skin to look dull and thanks to Vicky’s patented formula, it gently removes dead skin cells to reveal a younger, more even skin. It’s formulated with vitamin C to immediately brighten the skin and provide a radiant glow.
I don’t find the Vichy ProEVEN Brightening Cleansing Foam as hydrating as the other two cleansers, so I’ve been rotating this in a few times a week, when my skin is looking a little dull. It has a soft, gel-like texture that quickly turns into a foam when added to water. It comes to a decent lather and removes minor makeup, dirt and oil without leaving it feeling tight or dry. It just doesn’t have that added boost of moisture like the other cleansers. It is gentle, doesn’t clog pores and it also seems to clear up minor blemishes and breakouts. It gives a fresh, luxurious, radiant glow to the skin. It retails for $19.95 for 100ml.
I’ve been a huge fan of the Vichy ProEVEN Daily Dark Spot Corrector for years, but it now comes in a brand new formula that’s 3X more concentrated than the original for those that are looking to fade stubborn spots, such as dark spots, brown spots, sun spots and acne scars for a flawless, brighter complexion.
The new Vichy ProEVEN Advanced Daily Dark Spot Corrector can still be used twice a day, both day and night and it still gently exfoliates discoloured, dead skin cells while unifying and brightening the complexion with micronized mother of pearl. It has a lightweight, slightly citrusy clean scent that applies evenly and smoothly with only the smallest amount. It really helps to even out my skin tone, helps to fade dark spots and sun spots through gentle LHA exfoliation. Although it claims to act as a daily moisturizer, for those with extremely dry skin, like myself, you’re still going to want to follow up with a moisturizer. It helps to give a more luminous, supple and hydrated feeling, while lightly fading discolouration. Over time it visibly lessens sun spots and freckles, but you’ll probably see the largest difference in the brightness of your skin. It retails for $48.50 for 30ml.
Vichy ProEVEN Night Overnight Concentrate Dark Spot & Uneven Skin Tone is much like the Vichy ProEVEN Advanced Daily Dark Spot Corrector, but designed for the evening when your skin regenerates and mature skin cells fill up with melanin in hopes it’s replaced by newer, healthier cells. Overtime, new skin cells don’t form as quickly, which means dark spots become more prominent and you need some assistance in helping fade these awful spots. Vichy ProEVEN Advanced Daily Dark Spot Corrector is formulated with the highest concentration of LHA to help gently exfoliate and boost cell renewal. Vitamin C, Procysteine and Eperuline help protect fibroblasts from oxidation and inflammation that can directly influence melanin production.
I’ve been using Vichy ProEVEN Advanced Daily Dark Spot Corrector in the evening to help fade dark spots while I sleep. It too has a lightweight, gel-like texture that instantly absorbs into the skin and has a fresh, citrus scent. It’s slightly more hydrating than the daytime formula and has soothing properties to help keep my skin calm and smooth during the night. My skin is left moisturized with visibly less noticeable dark spots in a few short weeks. It retails for $49.50 for 40ml.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa is a replenishing and soothing sleep mask and is enriched with 15 beneficial minerals, naturally measured and blended to soothe, strengthen and regenerate the skin at night. This hybrid cream is formulated with Vichy’s famous Thermal Spa Water along with hyaluronic and aquabiorly which will help infuse moisture and hydration back into the skin. It helps to reinforce skin’s natural defence system, ensures it’s at the perfect PH balance, soothes and improves skin quality and helps skin regenerate faster
This is probably like my 5th jar of Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa, and one of my Holy Grail products for those with extremely dry skin. It has lightweight, thin, aqua blue, gel-like texture that applies like a dream. It instantly absorbs into the skin to give a velvety softness to the skin that doesn’t clog pores or cause breakouts. It never feels greasy or oily and with its fresh and relaxing spa-like scent, it instantly calms and cools the skin. It can be used as either a sleeping mask by applying a thick layer and waiting 10 to 15 minutes before massaging the excess into the skin, or as a nightly moisturizer by just applying a thin later and massaging into skin. It visibly plumps the skin for a more rested, fresher, radiant finish. It retails for $44 for 75ml.
Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep is a night cream that recreates the visible effects of deep restorative sleep on the skin. After only a few short hours the skin is visibly replenished, free of fatigue, fresh and bright, like after a good night’s sleep. It’s formulated with hyaluronic acid, glycyrrhizic acid, caffeine, LHA, vitamin B3 to keep skin hydrated and moisturized all night long. It visibly plumps the skin, soothes and stimulates cell division, helps prevent fatigue, exfoliates dead cell cells for a smooth and soft surface.
The Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep is much like the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa in the sense it has a lightweight, thin, baby pink, gel-like texture that applies like silk to the skin, but is designed to be used as a sleeping mask. I apply a thick layer and watch as it soaks into the skin fairly quickly. I still wait about 10 minutes before hitting the bed, just to ensure it’s fully absorbed. In the morning my skin appears softer, smoother and more hydrated, without a greasy film or residue. My skin really does look brighter, fresher, radiant and healthier, with a smooth to the touch finish. It’s so supple and soft, I don’t even want to wash my face in the morning (which of course I do). It has the relaxing and calming scent of jasmine and green tea that I find comforting after a busy and stressful day. It retails for $52 for 50ml.
My last step, and a product I keep on me at all times is the Vichy Eau Thermale Spa Water. It helps to hydrate and revitalize your skin with minerals while on the go. It helps to maintain a gorgeous glow and is formulated from 2000 year old volcanic mountains of Vichy, France where the water drips down these mountains and the minerals are accumulated in the water. It’s enriched with 15 rare minerals, each having its own beneficial skin ingredient that’s combined to create the perfect spa water to help soothe, fortify and regenerate the skin.
Whenever my skin is feeling a little parched throughout the day, I simply spritz 1 to 2 sprays of Vichy Eau Thermale Spa Water onto the entire face. It comes out in a very fine mist and absorbs into the skin within seconds. It doesn’t interfere with my makeup, nor does it leave my skin looking or feeling greasy or oily. It helps to soothe and refresh the skin during the day and gives that extra boost of hydration that us with dry skin look for during the day. It retails for $13 for 150ml.
