Summer cocktails

I’m not usually one for premade coolers, I often find them too sweet and sugary and start to feel sick immediately after just one. This may have something to do with the fact that all I used to drink when I was younger was coolers? Seems like the alcoholic choice for high schoolers are Mike’s Hard or Smirnoff Ice? Maybe because its more accessible, it looks like a non- alcoholic beverage or maybe it’s just the convenience of them, all I know is I drank way too many of these when I was a teen. In my 20’s it was all about a mixed drink, a rum and coke, a gin and sprite, a tequila and orange juice, a vodka and cream soda or a personal favourite, a Long Island Iced Tea, cause who doesn’t want vodka, tequila, gin, and rum all in one? Fast forward to my 30’s and I’m back to enjoying a small selection of coolers again.

My drink of choice is still vodka, blame the Russian in me. I enjoy a top quality vodka, especially when drinking it on the rocks. Grey Goose, Russian Standard and Cîroc may come with a higher price tag, but worth every penny. One of the reasons why I don’t enjoy many vodka coolers is because of the lower grade vodka that burns going down, that was until I was introduced to Woody’s.
