Fall is officially a month away, can you believe it? This summer flew by. I’m not ready to give up on my summer clothes just yet, which leaves me hoping for an extra long Indian summer. That being said, that doesn’t mean we can’t jump-start our fall shopping and pick up some cheap clothes (trendier pieces) in the meantime. I’ve been watching the trends on the runway and have come up with my top 6 things you need in your closest right now, that will help transition you into cooler temperatures. Running this fashion blog, I’m always on the hunt for a good deal and new styles to test and try out. Do you have any upcoming trends that you’re excited for?
A statement choker. Think 90’s, only thicker, bolder and wider. As much as I love a thin, dainty, velvet ribbon choker, this Fall is all about fully covering your neck.
Going even back further in decades, and keeping with the off-the-shoulder trend, the 80’s are making an appearance with one-shoulder dresses and tops. The more frills, ruffles and fringe the better.
Hats are not only fashionable, but practical in cooler temperatures. Think wide brimmed hats in luxurious fabrics such as leather and velvet.
Speaking of velvet, it seems to be the fabric of choice this season. Anything from blazers, coats, dresses, matching pant suits and beyond. It instantly gives a high fashion, luxe feel.
Dusty pink & yellows are going to be huge and maybe the trend I’m most excited for. I think a fun chunky sweater or even a chic winter coat in either of these shades will instantly update your wardrobe.
It’s also time to dig out those borrowed-from-the-boys cargo pants that you’ve been saving and start rocking them now, it’s the perfect transition piece to take you from summer to fall.
