A Colorful Way to Brighten your Winter

In a sea of dark and navy coats this winter coats, a bright and cheerful one can instantly brighten your mood. I say ditch those typical black, grey, tan year and opt for a colourful one. I promise it will make the cold a little more bearable, and it’s sure to put a smile on your face. Although searching for a colourful coat may seem a little intimidating, with a little help and research, it can be just as easy as picking out a black one.

My first tip is to find one within your colour palette. What colours do you reach for on the daily? What hues are you drawn to? What shades flatter your complexion. Sticking to colours within those rules, guarantee you find one that you can feel comfortable in and rock daily. Another thing to keep in mind, is to pick a colour that coordinates with other pieces in your wardrobe.

Neons, bold hues, bright colours are, of course, a little more daring and riskier, whereas pastels and soft shades are easier to style. A paler shade can often be played as a neutral, meaning it will go with more in your current closet than say a neon coat that’s sure to make a strong impact.

Remember that just because you have a colourful coat, doesn’t mean you can’t style it with other fun colours. The safe option is to pair it with basics, but if you’re looking to add a touch of playfulness to your appearance, have fun with other colours. A fun coat will immediately brighten up your complexion on even the darkest and dreary of days. Styled correctly, it can literally change the entire look of your outfit.
