Cetaphil Dermacontrol

Cetaphil Dermacontrol

For the past few years I’ve been suffering from breakouts, its weird cause I don’t necessarily have oily skin, in fact, I have dry skin, but that doesn’t stop those pesky red bumps from popping up every now and then. As a beauty blogger I get the honors of testing out new products, which in return is probably accounting for some of my breakout problems? My skin goes through a lot on a daily basis, testing out too many cosmetics, trying too many harsh cleansers to remove the makeup and constantly switching up my daily skin care routine. When my skin is looking really bad, I sometimes think less is more, which is why I always return to my trusty Cetaphil Daily Face Cleanser to get my skin looking perfect again. When I heard that Cetaphil had a new cleanser on the market, designed for oily, combination and blemish-prone skin, I was more than excited to try it. Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash and Moisturizer SPF 30 is a daily skincare routine that was designed to be used together to get the best oil control and to help reduce the appearance of breakouts, was tested and developed by dermatologists and was even voted best product of the year in 2013.

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash is the first step in this daily skincare regimen and is a gentle, calming cleanser that will effectively remove excess oil, dirt, impurities and makeup that clog pores and lead to breakouts. It features unique zinc complex that helps to absorb excess oil while providing a soothing, hydrating cleanse. It improves the skins appearance, leaving behind a shine-free, soft, matte finish.

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash comes in a large pump style bottle where 1 pump of the foam wash is enough to cleanse the entire face and neck. It has a lightweight, non-drying, soap-free (which will help preserve your skin’s natural protective oils) foam formula that almost feels like air on the skin. Since it is soap free, if you get the cleanser in your eyes, no problem, you won’t even notice it. Even though its super gentle on the skin, don’t let that fool you, it does an excellent job of instantly removing excess oil, dirt and makeup for a deep pore cleansing effect that can be used with or without water. The foam is so gentle that it doesn’t dry my skin out, even when using it 2 to 3 times a day. I’m left with a clean, freshly washed, hydrated skin that leaves behind an instant glow to my skin. It retails for $18.99 for 236ml.

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Moisturizer with SPF 30 is the second step in this daily skincare regimen and is a 3-in-1 moisturizer that provides hydration, shine control and protects against UVA/UVB. It features ceramide technology that helps replenish skins moisture while oleosome technology provides SPF 30 to the skin with minimal irritation.

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Moisturizer with SPF 30 also comes in a pump style bottle, where 1 pump is often enough to moisturize the entire face and neck. It too has a lightweight, white, oil-free, non-greasy texture that is still rich and creamy enough to give great hydration to the skin. I love any moisturizer that has SPF in it, but I often find it too thick and heavy for daily use under my makeup. This is so light I can barely tell I have it on. It dries almost instantly, blends beautifully with no white overcast like other SPF moisturizers and gives a matte finish to the skin. It really does keep my skin hydrated all day, it doesn’t break me out (even with the SPF) or clog my pores and I love that it doesn’t have that strong sunscreen scent to it. It retails for $18.99 for 120ml.

After a month of using both the Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash and Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Moisturizer with SPF 30 I have noticed a change in my skin. It’s not as dry as it has been in the past, even coming into these drier months, my breakouts have been less and my skin has never felt so silky smooth, soft and clean. I love that both these products get the job done without breaking the bank and can be found at your local drug stores and Wal-Marts.
