Colour Explosion Makeup Look

We went from basic monochromatic makeup looks earlier in the year, to full-on colour explosion in the fall. Although the subtle neutral looks may seem easier to wear, when done correctly, the colourful makeup look can be quite simple too. From the red carpet, to Fashion week, to street styles, coloured eye makeup is everywhere. Instead of jumping full force into the neon trend, look for a makeup palette that offers a wide variety of both vibrant colours and nudes. This will not only allow you to create an array of trend-setting looks, but it can also help tone down a bold look.

The easiest way to achieve this colour explosion makeup look, is to choose 2 to 3 colours, all within the same colour family and with the same matte or shimmer finish. Apply them with a shading brush to help blend the colour seamlessly together for a soft, almost airbrushed effect. You don’t want harsh lines, or you’ll risk looking like a clown or playing dress-up in your mother’s makeup collection.
