With the weather finally starting to feel like a true Canadian winter, and playing off the success of my 7 days of Hush Puppies showcase, I thought this would be the perfect week to start coat week. I will be sharing with you my must-have jackets of the season this entire week, so be sure to follow along. These will be sure to not only keep you warm this winter, but stylish too. Did you catch my last three posts on Noize, CMFR , Eleven Elfs and Ever New.
Although this FREED coat might just be the most expensive jacket I own, I can honestly say it’s worth every penny. Freed and Freed is family owned and manufactured right here in Manitoba. This high end luxury brand has its own unique and signature style that comes in an array of earth tones and in stunning plaid and houndstooth prints. Each jacket is named after a specific Canadian cities or towns and come fully finished with incredibly detail like distressed leather buttons, multiple and functional pockets and full lined hoods. The Winnipeger in pitch black is my absolute favourite and I love that it comes with a de-attachable down vest to help break the wind on those extra cold days. The microfiber lining is extremely warm and cozy and the protective waterproof outer fabric traps in the heat, while keeping the coat completely dry. I agree it’s a total investment piece, but thanks to its high class craftsmanship, classic shape, cut, colour and style, it will be a coat you have in your collection for years to come. An array of FREED coats can be found at Sporting Life, Honey, Blu’s Women’s Wear and more.
