Released for spring 2015 is the new Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation and Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer that has joined the Naked Skin family (see more on Instagram here). I couldn’t be more excited. Urban Decay has also released new Moondust eyeshadows and Sheer Revolution Lipsticks, that I’ll be reviewing soon, so stay tuned.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation comes in a beautiful rose gold box, with a stunning purple floral dust bag that, although I guess would be handy for traveling, I can’t really see you placing it back into each after every use. Like all luxe brands, I think they could have skipped this step and took a few dollars off the price. The foundation itself comes in a sleek and slim gunmetal compact with a push-release button and full size mirror on the inside lid. It’s divided into two compartments, left side holds the powder and the right side holds the sponge applicator. The sponge is actually pretty unique and applies the foundation seamlessly. The one side has a regular sponge texture, and provides a fuller coverage finish, whereas the other side is fuzzier allowing for a lighter, more natural effect.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation has coated, micro-milled powders to give it a weightless, soft and creamy texture that helps diffuse light to blur imperfections and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s formulated with Highlighter Performing Pigments to provide rich colour and provide the perfect balance of coverage to help even out skintone. It gives a light to medium coverage that’s extremely buildable without becoming cakey or heavy. It can be used both wet and dry to create different finishes. It applies evenly and sets within seconds, but gives you enough time to layer in between. It doesn’t fade or oxidize throughout the day and stays put without creasing for a solid 10 hours. It creates the perfect, natural, radiant, no makeup look in seconds.

I’m not usually one for a powder foundation, in fact, I think I’ve only reviewed one on the blog in the past 5 years, and that was the Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation. I now only use that as a setting powder in the summer, as I have really dry skin and it usually clings and adheres to my dry patches. I also like a fuller coverage foundation, and with a powder foundation, it usually doesn’t give me the coverage I need. The new Urban Decay Naked Skin Powder Foundation is surprisingly pretty darn amazing though. It does a wonderful job at blurring my imperfections and minimizing the appearance of pores, while providing a dewy, luminous, demi-matte finish to my skin. Since it is a powder, it will also help to mattify the skin and keep the shine at bay, not that I have a problem with oiliness. I’m in love with its velvety formula and its lightweight texture. It seems no matter how much I apply, it never becomes cakey or dry looking. Of course, my favourite way to use this, is as a setting powder, even though I know you’re not “suppose” to layer foundation on top of another foundation. But with a big fluffy brush and a light hand, I can’t even explain the flawless, HD, beautiful finish it gives to the skin without feeling heavy. It comes in 14 shades for $43 each.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer is a high-coverage, buildable, weightless concealer that instantly covers up imperfections without looking covered up. It’s enriched with peptides to help support skin’s youthful appearance and elasticity, green tea to help revitalize skin and reduce fine lines, lychee fruit extract that protects against dehydration and sodium hyaluronate to help retain moisture.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer comes in the same rose gold box, but in a sleek acrylic tube with a flat doe-foot applicator for easy application. It has an extremely lightweight, creamy texture that effortlessly blends into the skin. It’s buildable, without becoming cakey and provides an even, luminous, demi-matte finish. It’s comfortable to wear without settling into fine lines or wrinkles or creasing throughout the day. It does oxidize a little and becomes about a shade darker than when first applied. It does last a solid 10 hours without fading.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer is definitely a full coverage concealer, without feeling heavy at all. This baby covers up everything and with only the smallest amount. It’s truly opaque and extremely pigmented, although I think this would be best suited for highlighting and brightening up the under eye, as opposed to covering up blemishes, as each shade tends to be on the lighter side. It comes in 8 shades and retails for $34.
