Wedding Photographer Dress Code

I shot my first wedding today. It was for my girlfriend’s big day, so how could a girl say no? Of course, the number one question on my mind was….. what am I going to wear? I normally wear a cute dress to a wedding, but I knew I’d be on the ground, trying to capture that precious moment and I didn’t want to show all my “goodies” to her guests. My moto for when photographing a wedding, is dress as if you were a guest. Would you show up in a hot pink strapless party dress, of course not, and a general rule of thumb is, don’t stand out. That being said, I’m in no way a professional and I’m a firm believer in dressing to match your brand or what you feel comfortable in, so I went with a fun floral print pant. I did, however, follow the rule of wearing comfortable footwear, so although you’re seeing me in heels in these photos, I actually wore flats during the shooting.
