Long-wearing makeup
I never thought I’d be able to give up my Clarins Extra Comfort Foundation SPF15. It’s my go-to daily foundation, not only because of its anti-aging benefits, but because it has the coverage I need in a lightweight, long-wearing formula. I was excited to hear about the new Clarins Everlasting Foundation SPF15 with its new reinforced formula, from their best-selling foundation, to provide an even long hold, improved comfort and flawless coverage for up to 18 hours. It contains finely ground bamboo powder that not only mattifies the skin, but helps minimize the appearance of dark spots, redness and imperfections for a flawless result. Organic quinoa helps maintain supple skin and reinforces moisture for extra hydrated skin that’s comfortable to wear the entire day. It also contains SPF15 to help protect against UVA and UVB, along with white tea extract and succory-dock, to help protect the skin against the harmful effects of pollution and free radicals.
Clarins Everlasting Foundation SPF15 comes housed in a luxe, frosted, pump style bottle with gold cap lid. It has an extremely lightweight, creamy texture that applies to skin with ease. It’s easy to apply, blend into the skin and provides a medium to full coverage. It has a semi-matte finish that doesn’t look flat or dull. It actually almost has a dewy, luminous finish, while still looking matte, if that makes sense? Like all Clarins foundations, it has a lovely cucumber scent that’s cooling and refreshing. It provides a solid 12 to 14 hours wear time.
As much as I love my Clarins Extra Comfort Foundation SPF15, I was never a fan of the jar style packaging. Sure it was perfect for getting every last drop of the foundation, but was fairly heavy, got a little messy and wasn’t too hygienic. One pump of the Clarins Everlasting Foundation SPF15 was enough to cover my entire face and provide a medium coverage. Thanks to its buildable formula, I could easy apply another half pump to achieve full coverage. It blended into my skin really beautifully, covering any redness I had around my nose, blurring fine lines around my eyes, concealing any breakouts that I had at the moment and creating an even, seamless, almost airbrushed canvas. It didn’t extenuate enlarged pores, nor did it adhere to any dry patches. Now I haven’t actually worn it for a full 18 hours, but when in conjunction with a primer, I had no problem getting 15 hours without it oxidizing or fading.
Clarins Everlasting Foundation SPF15 really is weightless. It’s as if you don’t even have foundation on, yet provides a full coverage effect. I felt like my skin could breath, and because of this, it didn’t seem to cause breakouts. I love that it dried fairly quickly, yet gave me enough time to really buff into the skin for a seamless look. It comes in an array of 10 new shades, from porcelain to deep tones and retails for $41 for 30ml.
