January 9th, 2014- Mixing Prints

I get asked all the time, how do you master the art of mixing prints and it’s simple, keep one of the prints in a neutral hue and the other in a brighter shade. Your closet is probably already full of strips, polka dots, plaids, florals and mixing prints will bring an entirely different way you look at your clothes. It’s right on trend, gives a high fashion look and when done correctly, can bring new life to your tired looking clothes without buying new pieces. One of my favorite pairings is floral and stripes, I took a black and white peplum floral top and paired it with navy and green tartan printed pants, creating a foolproof look. Notice I kept the top neutral and the bottoms brighter, creating the perfect balance between neutral and colours. What do we think?
