After attending Montagne Jeunesse’s launch party for their new Clay Spa Masks and having a chance to test out a few on my own, I noticed in the bottom of my goody bag a Montagne Jeunesse’s Dirt & Grime Clean Mask for men and instantly ran to the hubby to test it out. Although a little hesitant at first, I told him it would be a perfect review for his Manly Monday posts and he quickly agreed.
The Montagne Jeunesse’s Dirt & Grime Clean Mask is a self-warming mask that is packed with cinnamon (which has an invigorating effect and helps to tighten the skin) and ginger (which strengthens capillary walls for a more firm skin tone and appearance). This mask will help to open up your man’s pores and get rid of any dirt and grime that’s left on his face from everyday life. It will leave your man’s skin smooth as a baby’s behind.
The mask is easily applied, just add a small amount of water to a freshly clean face, or in my husband’s case, drench your face with as much water as possible (only to have to pat dry a few seconds later). You then just apply the mud mask evenly over your face using your fingertips, avoiding eyes and lips (or again in my husband’s case apply it all over your eyelids) and then have your wife wipe it off. He then just lies back, relaxes and enjoys the warming effect for about 10-15 minutes.
Derek’s first impression was “it’s warm, very warm in my hands” and he wasn’t a fan of the ugly brown colour, after I told him “it’s not like you’re going outside with it on” he seemed to relax a little. He did find it a little difficult to apply at first as it’s pretty runny and kept dripping off his face. He rubbed the mud together in his hands for about 20 seconds and this seemed to thicken it up and made it much easier to apply. It turns from an unflattering brown to a nice orange colour when applied to the face, which he was much happier about.
He found the scent of cinnamon to be very relaxing and soothing and liked the tingly feeling of the mask, although I’m sure this was just the warming effect? He did say it got warmer as time went on, and it seemed to completely dry within about 3-4 minutes. When it was time to remove the mask, even though it was pretty dry, he said it came off with just a little bit of water.
Derek did notice how soft and clean his face felt after, he made me touch it a half a dozen times (with clean hands only) and said his moisturizer even applied better afterwards. When I asked if this would be an ongoing weekly occurrence, he said most definitely. For only $2.50 (or less) you man won’t feel like he’s breaking the bank when buying this mask.
