This fashion blog has evolved so much over the years, due to the fact I have so much more to offer than just outfits of the days. Since Derek and I have been experimenting with new wines over the past few weeks I thought it would be fun to share some of our favourites with you. Although we’re in no way wine connoisseurs, we are slowly beginning to appreciate it, as it’s the perfect way to unwind after a busy and stressful week and is also the perfect way to ring in the weekend. We also believe that you don’t need to invest in an expensive bottle of wine or find one that’s been aged for years to enjoy its flavour, instead look for one that has strong aroma and a deep complex. If it stays with you long after you’ve tasted it, you know it’s a good one.
Derek and I will be ringing in the week over a bottle of this light and refreshing Aliança Vinho Verde 2014. It’s citrine and pale in colour and features a slightly fruity fragrance or tropical fruits. It’s accompanied by the aromas of glacial snow and soda water that give it almost a bubbly consistency. Although it’s slightly acid, it’s still incredibly fresh on the tongue and it ends fairly smooth and sweet. I do detect a hint of lime in the background that gives it an incredibly refreshing finish. This is going to be the perfect wine on a warm summer day.
