THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Collection Review

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Collection Review

High in antioxidants

I can’t go a day without seeing someone posting a cereal or smoothie picture on social media of their current breakfast featuring chia seeds, and always wondered what the hype was all about. After a little research, I’ve learned it’s one of those super foods that is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and high in antioxidants, protein and fiber, so it’s no wonder why everyone is adding them to their daily diet. THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Collection is my first attempt at chia seed and since it contains high amounts of vitamin E, it’s an excellent antioxidant that fights the signs of wrinkles and redness and provides flexible and subtle skin. It also contains high amounts of zinc that not only tightens the skin, making it look younger and softer, it helps to get rid of undesirable acne and breakouts.

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Fresh Cleansing Foam is a light and refreshing daily cleanser that helps to infuse moisture into dry, dull, dehydrated skin, with added benefits of chia seed, which holds 10 times of water than its weight. It helps to absorb excessive sebum with cotton seed and deeply cleanses even inside pores. In return, skin looks clearer and refreshed without any shine.

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Fresh Cleansing Foam has a somewhat denser formula when it is first squeezed from the tube, but quickly melts into a runny consistency once applied to the face. The more you massage it into the skin, the more it will foam up. Its mild exfoliate formula gently scrubs away dead skin cells and deeply cleanses inside the pores, instantly providing a refreshing, squeaky clean feeling. A little goes a long way and it washes clean away without any nasty or sticky residue. It does leave my skin feeling a little tight after cleansing, but nothing my daily moisturizer won’t take care of. I believe it’s also designed for those with oily skin, and I have extremely dry skin, so this might be the reason? It retails for $14 for 150ml.

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Moisturizing Toner is an extremely hydrating toner that instantly hydrates deep down inside the skin with organically grown chia seeds, which absorbs moisture 10 times its own weight. It helps to tone dry and patchy dead skin cells and moisturizes the skin, the same way water is absorbed. It adjusts the skin into an optimal state to fully retain moisture.

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Moisturizing Toner is applied twice a day, after cleansing the skin, by soaking a cotton pad and gently tapping lightly for full absorption. You can also leave the cotton pad on extra dry areas for 30 seconds at a time for long-lasting moisturization. Not only will it help keep skin extremely hydrated, it also helps to calm and soothe the skin. I’ve noticed the redness around my nose is almost gone, it helps to keep my skin refreshed and gives a slight overall brightness to my dull complexion. It also helps to remove traces of dirt, oil and makeup that your daily cleanser may have missed. It has a light and refreshing summer scent that’s quite lovely. It retails for $24 for 145ml.

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Moisturizing Cream for Oily Skin is a moisturizing cream with freshly germinated chia seeds in water drops that burst the moment it touches the skin to fully hydrate it. It helps to moisturize from the inside out and extend the hydration period up to 24 hours. It’s also formulated with chamomile that provides immediate hydration and soothes dry, dehydrated, red and irritated skin.

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Moisturizing Cream for Oily Skin is, of course, designed for those with oily skin, which I do not have, so I’m probably not the best person to be reviewing and giving my opinion on. What I can tell you is it has an incredibly weightless gel type texture that has a clean and refreshing scent. It absorbs very quickly into the skin without leaving behind a thick, sticky or greasy feeling. It’s all natural ingredients keeps it extremely lightweight and doesn’t clog pores or irritate the skin, making it the perfect moisturizer for those with acne-prone or sensitive skin. Although it didn’t completely clear up my dry patches or keep my skin hydrated the entire day, it is quite refreshing and probably perfect for those with combination to oily skin. It retails for $31 for 50ml.

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Moisturizing Serum is a concentrated brightening and softening serum that’s composed of gel capsules that burst upon contact with the skin. It offers all the wonderful benefits of the chia seed that help to nourish, hydrate and invigorate the skin without feeling sticky.

THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Moisturizing Serum is my favourite out of the collection, I’ve been applying it both day and night on a cotton pad, the same way you would apply a toner. It has a transparent, jelly like texture that feels almost watery, full of moisture when applied to the skin. It fully absorbs into the skin in a few short minutes, and although it does feel somewhat sticky upon first application, after it dries, it’s completely smooth and soft. It instantly gives a fresh, soft and dewy effect to the skin that’s amazingly hydrating and moisturizing. It actually cleared up dry patches which allows my foundation to apply smoother and more flawless. It retails for $31 for 50ml.
